  1. Feels like time in a flat circle We have chances in the 3rd only for their goalie to make a miraculous save on Thompson among a couple others. Dahlin and Jokiharju go on a mission on the PK but no one else drives the net with Dahlin so its 1 v 3 & Goalie and yet he still gets two shots on. Just plain depressing how nothing ever just comes together. Anytime we have nice things they break due to injury. Otherwise our only choices are to suffer or suffer.
  2. If anything my guess is he lost some core strength training due to lower body injury he had last season near the end. Since he hasn't looked quite as confident with his balance or skating. Add to that a wrist injury making stick handling slightly more difficult which will unconsciously get you to slow down. Between those issues and his confidence we see a far less effective Thompson. UPL having a rough game; as long as he bounces back next game we have nothing to worry about in his case.
  3. Cozens works better when he plays with a winger's mindset. Straightforward, North-South drive to the net with speed. When he plays center he has a tendency of trying to over do it unless Quinn is there. Quinn seems to take the role of playmaker and thus Cozens plays far better because he adopts a more North-South style to fill in the cracks of Quinn and Peterka's East-West games
  4. Frankly I firmly believe he is. He's likely the last guy to argue about the fan's anger. He even admitted about ticket prices being an issue earlier in the year. I grow weary of this absurd conspiracy
  5. I don't think its necessarily unwillingness as much as he's better moving around than standing still. Yeah he sort of stole it at the last second; puck was slowly making its way into the net and Cozens shoved it in with serious force. It likely makes it regardless but after that other wide open net blunder im guessing he wasn't putting it up to any chance.
  6. Well its been worse than even that; he's been a net negative for a couple weeks now. He even ran smack dab into Thompson's leg and hobbled him in the 3rd
  7. Weird stats: All 3 OT wins we have are 3-2 games
  8. Greenway with the dirty goal on the Thompson shot Jokiharju with the OT winner!?! Line 1 can be summed up as this: Tuch skating hard making some stuff happen Thompson trying hard and seemingly having no luck with his typical stickhandles or shots Skinner, may as well skate in a circle because he's got into Thompson and Tuch's way at least 2 or 3 times since the All Star Break lol
  9. Everyone on the team needs some skating and passing drills.
  10. They need to put a 15 second rule on offsides challenges. If the goal happens after 15 the goal should count
  11. Tage is bad due to a wrist injury which drops his shot speed by about 10mph on average and makes it difficult for him to put torque on his stick handling far from his body. The PP is bad because the system relies on Thompson almost entirely and Dahlin literally being the only guy trying to move around most nights.
  12. It's meant to be an offseason trade 🙂 It really only works if LA continues their death spiral.
  13. That is true, this is what I came up with. After next year we'd be forced to trade or buyout Skinner with cap hits of 4,6,2,2 but with at least one of Peterka/Quinn getting a bridge; the money would be available. It would just be a tad tight. I'm not all that worried about Tuch, he's making 4.75mil now and in 2 years he'll likely be about 6 mil which isn't a huge jump. https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4893758
  14. The one thing I do like about Doughty over Andersson is the grit and fire he has to win. That’s a guy who could kick his teammates’ ***** and have the talent and experience to back it up. And is that not what this team needs? Plus honestly he plays a lot like Dahlin, offensive instincts with a borderline dirty hitting streak. He’s from London, Ontario so perhaps if the Kings free fall the rest of the year he might be open to it. And maybe we grab his buddy Quick to backup for a year. Essentially bring me some proven winners that will play with fire and passion
  15. You must be real fun at parties.
  16. His corsi and fenwick metrics are still good
  17. Samuelsson, Savoie 24' 2nd and 25' 3rd for Drew Doughty(3mil retained) Would you do it?
  18. No better way to start off the season with some new pieces and hopes than by taking a trip to Europe
  19. Well that just sucks, any time we start to see something good that player gets hurt
  20. There's prospects everywhere.. What's this? There's scouts in every chair What's this? I can't believe my eyes I must be dreaming Wake up, Terry, this isn't fair What's this?
  21. Frankly I’d blame it more on Skinner than Thompson for their line’s difficulties. Thompson is fighting it but he’s engaged and working with Okposo on the walls and trying to play defensively sound although he seems confused as to what he should do with it in his own zone. Skinner has looked disinterested in joining in on Okposo’s simpler scheme and has been giving the puck away at a ridiculous rate. In one of the two prior games Okposo and Thompson kicked ass for a shift along the walls and exhausted the other team and began cycling out to which Skinner promptly lost control and let the other team get it. I kind of wonder if he just can’t play within structure; even very basic structures and that’s why Brind’Amour made him available when he was hired in Carolina. Skinner thrives on chaos and creates chaos; Okposo definitely does not create chaos. Thompson takes great advantage of chaos but seems far less hampered by some structure. If we want to win, we need the ability to rein in the chaos when we need to and I almost wonder if Skinner just can’t do that.
  22. No I meant the image's source; I recognize the source but don't remember the name lol
  23. Housley had no edge either. There are defenseman out there with little to no edge. They are rarer than forwards but they do exist. I do think once he gets older he'll be slightly more "gritty" but I doubt he'll ever be considered a physical player. Quinn Hughes would fit this mold rather well and Makar is only slightly more mean spirited.
  24. One agitation about the current standings system This season has truly been odd for us between our solid 5v5 stats, low goal differential and the fact we have 21 out of 23 wins in regulation. We're in 4th in RWs in the Atlantic Division. So frankly this year would look a lot different if we had some PP goals and few more OT Losses versus regulation losses. That doesn't mean it makes this season any less annoying but it is rather interesting to look at.
