I just don't see a winger being worth more than a 1C
-
Honestly I don't think that's a must seeing as there are so few in the league to begin with.
-
I don't believe in some grand conspiracy about AFP working for the Pegulas and trying to undercut players. Since if you convince your fans of these numbers and you sign them for more it only makes you look bad. Fan opinions matter but in contractual negotiations would mean little.
-
I'm unsure if you can, he may only have 2 RFA years left.
-
Clifton and E Johnson are also considered more physical styled players He's 6'1" and nearly 200 lbs; he isn't exactly small and weak either.
-
As in the ROR trade which was kind of funny or the Eichel trade? ROR trade would be a literal coup. The Eichel trade is likely more akin to what he's worth minus a hair since a 1C > 1W. Effectively I outright refuse to trade more for Tkachuk than we were sent for Eichel Frankly I wouldn't trade Power for Tkachuk straight up much less add sweeteners to the pot. Honestly I'd say Top 2 Defenseman are still harder to get and more valuable than Power Forwards if only due to their length of time needed to become a top defenseman as well how much longer they can fulfill that role.

I agree, he’s been solid but don’t we need to adjust something this offseason? If we were to sign UPL 4x5mil, Mitts 5x7mil, Joki 3x4mil and Krebs 2x2mil then we’d have a mere 8 mil to play with while Rousek takes up a spot and we’d still need 3 extras, a back up goalie and a 4th liner.
-
I wouldn’t be able to but we’d be saying hello to continued mediocrity because we’d be cap strapped for the next 3 years at least. If Mitts wants 7 and UPL wants 5 then we are going to be fielding this exact team again next season with a couple minor changes to the bottom 6. You’ll be resigning Jokiharju at 4.2 because he’ll become the best defenseman available at 4.2 mil since he won’t be a UFA capable of gouging us.
-
Dahlin could probably acquire a lot in theory. Partially this is why I don’t think most of the proposals here really work in a realistic sense. Most teams couldn’t afford Tkachuk’s cap hit to begin with. Add to that how badly his brother’s trade worked against Calgary and you’ll likely get a lot of feelers but little concrete offers.
-
I partially disagree seeing as Adams has made it apparent he’s been trying to get bigger stronger players since mid way through last season. He went after Chychrun and acquired Greenway and Stillman. Draft wise, my guess it’s more of a best player available approach more than specifically targeting small guys.
-
I think you can, and more or less must, keep him under 4mil. Between Mitts making about 7 and UPL pulling in 4 we’d not have much room to make any improvements. Anything more and we are effectively trapped hoping the present team just improves via experience
-
He's no sure thing but he's kind of the only goalie prospect we have even within 3 years of being NHL capable. Good ones, rarely. It's more akin to a crapshoot. Usually you either overpay and get screwed or underpay and get screwed.
-
Even so, it means if UPL falls off we are literally without a goalie for the present and future.
-
We got Tuch, Krebs and a protected 1st + 2nd and sent them back a 3rd. No where near as much as Cozens + Benson + more I wouldn’t offer Levi regardless
-
At that cost it isn't worth it in the slightest. You'd end up in Lindros trade territory of 4 1sts + for 1 guy and that never works out for the team getting the 1 player.
-
I'd say no since Levi is still our high end prospect goalie and until UPL does this a couple years I'm not interested in playing that game. Quinn and Peterka are a dynamic duo and I'd be extremely hesitant to trade either of them much less both.
-
Great player but his maturity issues being bantered about would give me great hesitation over any such acquisition. You'd be nuts to trade Dahlin for him. I'd decline that rather easily to be perfectly honest. You don't trade an entire line's worth of talent and your top prospect goalie for a singular player with perceived maturity issues.

Sabres have allowed the fewest goals in the NHL since January 1st

Benson can't play in Rochester; he is stuck either in Juniors or the NHL -

The statistic here just tells me Cozens and Benson have done the work but haven’t been rewarded whereas Peterka is having some puck luck. Anything within 2 to -2 really isn’t a story as it’s merely a margin of error.
