  1. I'm meaning physically hard to play against. Copp and Cozens would be the only guys willing to hit anyone. Ok, using your idea I've formed a team but am at a loss at what else to do. Not to mention what the heck is Larsson going to want for his contract?
  2. Honestly, if you swapped Ehlers and Copp's position I'd be fine with it. (If Ehlers were a Center and Copp was a Winger) But to me a true 2C is far more worthy of throwing around a 1st than a high tier winger. Skilled yes, but softer than a baby's bottom.
  3. Your trade proposal is too rich for my taste. Just saying though if we got Ehlers I might go Skinner-Eichel-Ehlers Olofsson-2C-Reinhart Johansson-Cozens-RW3 Asplund-Lazar-Okposo Thompson is a tad troublesome though due to his inexperience and I really don’t want him with Cozens.
  4. For no reason I feel like Risto and a 21 2nd for Ehlers will happen
  5. I’d guess they still are.
  6. That would be a rather sad attempt to fix our team.
  7. I'm not interested in trading Pekar for the 3rd back but the idea is good. We need Pekar's future pest on this team since we completely lack his type of player. 0 interest in Dylan Strome; he's too slow and doesn't do much of anything for long stretches. Plus he's rarely good when not with Kane and/or Debrincat I'm not keen on the Tampa trade barring some amount of pick protection.
  8. Anything pop up as of late; it is understandable though if you are still busy getting into the school swing of things.
  9. My guess would be if Toronto can’t make room and St. Louis tells him to leave Buffalo would be in the running due to location. Besides that I’d be unsure what he’d be drawn here by aside Eichel and Dahlin
  10. I thought he left over the Sabres awfulness
  11. Just so you know, he wasn't exactly an innocent man. But innocent until proven guilty truly seems to be a lost art in this day and age. That being said, why the cop fired 7 times into the guy at point blank range makes no sense.
  12. I really only see this causing more strife as truly racist people will gain fuel to their fires. What happened was wrong but rioting only opens up the doors for opportunists and further hatred to form. Racism is a horrible thing but it stems from a combination of fear, ignorance, and some genuine reasons. You can’t end it via fighting because it will only further entrench the motivations of both sides. Cops are placed in a serious predicament every time they are sent on a call; they have to make split second decisions that could mean life or death for themselves or others. Even the most non-racist person would have to admit that being in an inner-city region isn’t exactly a safe place to go as a cop or anyone for that matter. African Americans are more likely to be in gangs thus cops are going to unconsciously be more wary of unusual or seemingly threatening behaviors. That all being said shooting a man in the back 7 times at point blank range is absurd. Shoot his leg or something non lethal then pull him out of the vehicle. The saddest part is I have no clue how to solve racism. It’s a vicious cycle with no straight forward solution. For instance, if African Americans stopped joining gangs and selling drugs and focused on schooling they would be far better off. Problem is that to some degree, gang activity stems from poverty and many city schools are inferior all around. To fix that we would need money to improve everything however we cannot exactly force them to use their money in a way more beneficial to them in the long term. Not to mention general corruption and legitimately racist people involved in government. Which leads to further dangerous conditions, dropping home values and continued crime escalation thus bringing in more cops in an effort to keep people safe. Which then leads to new problems which eventually leads us back to them joining gangs for a familial entity and protection.
  13. It’s NHL or Juniors for Cozens barring the WHL cancelling their season
  14. Here's an idea I came up with which actually got some Canadiens fans to bite BUF Receives: Danault, Phillip 2020 1st round pick (MTL) - 16th Overall Additional Details: Signs a 6x5.25mil extension. MTL Receives: Montour, Brandon [RFA Rights] Thompson, Tage [RFA Rights] 2020 1st round pick (BUF) - 8th Overall 2021 2nd round pick (BUF) The idea is to get a 2C/eventual 3C who is more defensive in nature to lessen Eichel's need to literally be out there 26 min a night. We move down in the 1st round but still have a mid-1st pick to help replenish our prospect pool. My other primary targets would be Cirelli or Tierney as they all play a Selke-winning styled game and to go far in the playoffs, that is a must have.
  15. I'd love to get Denault; he's be by 2nd target behind Cirelli due to his play style.
  16. I highly doubt that Reinhart + #8 will be needed to get Monahan. If that's what they want for him then we'd be better off taking Bozak off the Blue's hand or something like that. I'm not going to cut off my arms to get a nose.
  17. Vanek would of possibly played with or against Kopitar at some point seeing as they were both from smaller hockey programs, Austria and Slovenia. Why wouldn't an NHL GM ask a player about their opinions on potential draft picks? Its more information and every bit counts. A. Scouts can't see every possible player B. Players have a more personal interaction with prospects as they may be peers. C. Character References never hurt For instance, I would think that Botts would of asked Jokiharju about Kahun before trading for him as they had been roommates the year prior with the Blackhawks. Depending on Jokiharju's character and his response you can certainly gain insight on Kahun in ways a scout would be unable to get. If he says Kahun barely rolls out of bed to go to practice, plays Fortnite at 6 hours a day, and eats a straight diet of Snickers Bars and Pepsi yet somehow still can play you would garner great amounts of character information. If Vanek, having only played one year in the AHL, said he should go get Kopitar and Darcy's scouts gave similar ideas then he should of tried and got up there to get him. The fact that Vanek went out of his way to tell this to his literal boss tells you that he must have a good reason to do so.
  18. If Pieterangelo leaves and ROR doesn't get the C I could certainly imagine him being at least grumpy.
  19. Is he still there though?
  20. The only way Buffalo should be taking Zucc is either in some way with Okposo going the other way or 50% retention and some kind of prospect or pick. Scratch that, he has a NMC
  21. Their fanbase needs to suffer to earn it essentially. They can't just waltz into the playoffs year after year. Buffalo has suffered, Vancouver has suffered, Washington and St. Louis suffered through down years and terrible let downs and then finally won their respective Cups. Most fanbases have felt the sting of missing the postseason, of losing players, bad contracts, etc. Vegas was given a silver platter of an expansion draft and has had absurd amounts of success already. Let me say, I do like Vegas, they have a great looking arena from what I can see and a very solid team; however I don't feel their fans deserve a Cup.
  22. Problem is that this doesn't help Tampa. We'd be giving them 3 more RFAs
  23. Kinda sad as that leaves us with Tampa, Boston, the Isles and likely Philly as Eastern Conference candidates. Doesn’t leave me many teams to root for. I hate Boston, dislike Philly, and really not fond of Tampa. The Isles aren’t terrible but they have rather boring games. As for the West, we have Vegas and Colorado, already through and neither are teams I like as one has barely existed and thus doesn’t deserve a Cup and the other somehow always got lucky with any draft pick they acquired and got to have an inadvertent tank year without any residual problems. Then we have Dallas who is both boring to watch and will always be undeserving until we win a Cup. Calgary which I actually like but want more trade possibilities. St. Louis is a huge no from me as I will always despise ROR having success regardless of if he forced his way out or not. And Vancouver just angers me because Quinn Hughes doing well only makes media and people alike talk down on Dahlin. Plus they make a risky trade and it worked out versus practically any risk we take explodes in our faces. I guess Isles vs Avs would be a weirdly interesting Final to me. As at least I don’t hate Compher or Zadorov.
  24. I think he's likely to bounce back as his career has shown.
  25. Something doesn't quite add up, I used your salaries exactly sent Ruotsaleinen down and even at 5mil for the 2C I still have 1.3 mil in cap space. (I did include the 1.5mil penalty) It likely stems from you saying we have 31 mil in cap space to start when we actually have just under 34.5mil
