  1. Lol I keep realising that, sorry. That would bug me as well so don't worry. Thanks for the correction :) I would prefer to field neither, so I'm not answering the question. Sorry, thats the truth though. Datsyuk is a perfect example, defensively sound to the point he doesn't have to play physical to be effective on the ice. I'd take him over Peca in his prime any day. Without Ovi you think the Caps have such a stranglehold on the SE division? One dimensional forwards like Miro are a thing of the past, just like one dimensional grit players like Peca are...
  2. Read the post again, I've edited it. My point is the same as yours, other than the fact that your saying Selke winners cause goals. I'm saying their important but not more important than goals. The definition of win is to score MORE than the other team. To do that you need offense AND defense. In this sport that comes with an element of physicality. WHAT IS YOUR POINT?! Please help me!
  3. Sure, I like the guy. For $3-4Mill for 2 seasons. Any more and we're getting ripped off. The proposed deal is in a 'stupid' league of is own though.
  4. ? Also, you bury a respected player like Doan, or make a habit of doing it, and players around the league avoid your team...
  5. My point is they didn't beat their way to the cup, they had an unbeatable, well balanced team with absurd depth and good health. Without 40 goals Peca is useless, without defensive forwards like Peca 40 goals in useless, not sure what your point is. One really doesn't outweigh the other. Scratch that, physicality is only useful as a way of getting goals or preventing them, as long as we're sound at defense and scoring then how we do it doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is a physical presence is needed in this league and some players didn't have the necessary attitude last year, naming Gausted as a particular criminal, but the whole team could do with being a little more aggressive. We have learnt from the mistake and I look forward to next (13-14) season.
  6. So who's playing Sleeping Dogs on the PS3?

  7. Kings less so, they barely got in but every player produced on the ice. Plus you put anyone other than Quick in that net and your stumped, physicality was a part but not their main game.
  8. Buffalo: Where any idiot can get a stupidly large contract. That would make him second only to Leino in terms of ridiculously overpaid players in the NHL. I'm hoping, above all else, we don't land him.
  9. You are the very embodiment of my opposite, lol. Amazing :). Aside from Clapton, he doesn't bother me either way. Folk, Rock, Nu-metal, Jazz and Blues for me. I hate pop and I despise Metallica. Cool thread. Been listening to Bellowhead, The Calling, Nickleback and Disturbed mostly. However check out 'Bangarang' by Skrillex, thats pretty awesome.
  10. They'll remove you if you stamp near the SC I suspect :P.
  11. On some deep level a lot of fans tend to complain about how we aren't as good as we were in the 90's, or that Miller/Biron/Noronen(remember him?) aren't very good, or the defense is too leaky and isn't as good as it used to be be. The problem, most of the time, isn't that directly is that in the 90's we had what some (including me) consider to be one of the top 2 goalie's of all time. Hits could win us games then because 1-2 goals were all that was needed. Now all we need to be able to do is hold our own physically, we can't afford to be too tough and lose offense. That includes having guys that are fast, agile and can score as well as guys who are big, strong and play good D, or can hustle for the puck.
  12. Regher, Ott, Kaleta, Pominville, Vanek, Miller, Myers. Complete losers. They wouldn't even make the Islanders roster. EdIt: In all seriousness, first it was Kaleta, then Regehr, then Ott and now it's Doan. The grass is always greener for you guys. You'll stamp your feet until you get what you want.
  13. I've said it's a stupid deal since I heard about it.
  14. Why is it just Ruffs responsibility to lead us to a cup? Do the players have no accountability?
  15. Brad Boyes plays for the Islanders now, if that helps.
  16. Lol I was waiting for that! Whats the movie?
  17. I've said for a while that some Sabre fans inability to get over Hasek is incredibly unhealthy.
  18. I'm not saying Ruff is better than Dineen. Given the exact same scenario I'm sure they'd do equally well. They are both technically capable coaches. That's also kind of the point, without a scientific level experiment (which is impossible) it's either bitching and complaining or random fandom. I can understand how many of you are frustrated and need a focus for the anger, but random bitching will change nothing, especially as at this stage there will be no hockey next season unless something changes. At the end of the day it's up to the players to play. If Roy doesn't want to get his nose dirty his about as welcome here as Pyatt. I welcome the additions we've made and look forward to an interesting season. My only worry is Regier not doing anything if we get into a run. I fully agree with everyone here who say he should have done something in December or at worst January.
  19. Welcome, good to see another Brit. :)
  20. Great if we don't want to score or win. Those guys can't keep up with todays game and the goalie's are too good.
  21. So the Orks from the Warhammer 40k universe? :P
  22. If I wanted to create a full team of balanced guys I'd have all 3, but Lucic's attitude has hurt his team quite badly. I'd rather have Lucic minus the aggresive macho ######, but thats a personal preference. Aside from the Miller incident I think his a ######. Then the statement doesn't really have any specific in it, define 'who can play', specifically define exactly what you mean by 'play' and we'll get somewhere. :)
  23. I fully support what your trying to say, but that is the worst threat you could use on an internet forum.
