  1. Oh right ok, then thats what I'm on about. I would have thought it'd have a huge amount of Olympic stuff as well though.
  2. BBC World service? International BBC TV channel? might be called something else. I'm in the UK but I thought there was some kind of international BBC station.
  3. Linemates really. Pom was our only consistent scorer last season and I feel it's risking too much to put him away from good quality linemates. I'm optimistic but even I say we have a huge amount riding on a bounceback/improvement from Hodgson, Ennis, Foligno, Stafford, Myers, the bottom 6, Leino, Vanek, Miller, etc. Don't get me wrong, I understand your point. I just have concerns. I think my main problem is Tropp with Vanek. His a great 4th liner, energy player but he has hands of stone. I would like someone with a little more skill up there if I'm honest. Hell I'd take Kaleta or Ott up there right now over Tropp. I can understand the Pominville point, as mentioned about and I completely see that his a 2 way player naturally. Well, as said, if it doesn't work Lindy is quick enough to swap 'em over. Could be an asset this season.
  4. Surely you guys have BBC World? They must have 24 coverage I would imagine?
  5. Surely for a sport trying to move away from the 'thugs rule' persona this is not a good image to portray? Just interested as most hockey fans I know who've seen it say they didn't like it. SWS is, was and always will be Stifler though for me.
  6. To be fair we would still be deep but lack top 2 talent. We have a number of top 4 defensemen and many top 6 dmen However Myers and maybe Ehrhoff are our only 2 legitimate top 2 defenders, with Myers being absolutely crucial.
  7. Ahhh oh. I'm interpretting 'Playoff run' differently, I've re-read it. I do remember but I doubt we will see it again. It was a stupid move at the time and didn't work if I remember. Either way having our best scorer on our 3rd line is asking for trouble imho.
  8. If we are going to trade with Philly to help their defensive need I want to rob their offense. AND I want to win this deal clear. We see them too often and get beaten to often for me to be happy with anything else. They do have pieces I like though. Think we could get Briere back for Leopold and Brennan? Lol, j/k. Nice post, good points on Hartnell. Puts reasons to a lot of instincts I have about him. To be fair Simmonds just put up career numbers in his debut season with the Flyers. I suspect we won't see him being moved under and circumstance. To be fair I think Philly realise they can't afford to lose offense so we might be a limited trading partner.
  9. Yes but that was before Pom's 73 point season.
  10. I would put money on Van and Pom being together, There is no chance our current leading scorer and best offensive weapon aren't on the top line, together. It'll probably also take quite some failure for Hodgson not to be there as well I'd say. Agree we need a good shutdown line though.
  11. Where though? I can't see lindy using anything other than Van, Pom, Hodg, Ennis, Fol and Staff on the top 6. I'm not disagreeing, I see it as well, but I can't see where we're going to fit him in.
  12. I have. I deleted my post though because I don't wish to be a part of this thread and I realised even posting in it is a complete waste of my time. My mistake. Weave: Hyperbole is a useful tool when making a point. If you would like me to be more specific I can say that I've seen a number of posters mentioning how they would like the team to be tougher even if we sacrifice offense to do it. I have read it for myself. To explain my opinion I would say that we need more offense and to be tougher. I believe addressing toughness without addressing offense is an issue, but one of my main gripes last year was that the bottom 6 did not contribute offensively at all, which is unacceptable. My opinion goes further than that but I have no interest in sharing it with you.
  13. FINALLY got my pictures uploaded.

  14. Not disagreeing, and I understand the point about TSC and most people here are normally constructive. However threads like the Miller-Lucic one were nothing good can come out of them, just hate. Being a bit picky but I never said all TSC do is bash. Meh, my point has been made. I think I'm just going to try to check this forum out less often over the summer.
  15. I thought Arnott was a perfectly sound defensive guy. There's not a huge amount of offense left in him.
  16. Lmao. I was tempted to put something like that in myself. It was bound to happen one day. However I'm going to check for signs of an apocalypse in a moment. I've been wondering whether Arnott would be a good signing for this team anyway. Decent bottom 6 centre. I'm surprised STL didn't resign him actually.
  17. Just because we haven't won it all doesn't mean nothing good has happened. But I understand your point, but re-hashing the same old bad instances it's really looking for improvment either in my books. Ye, in most of life people tend to focus on the negative. But this isn't constructive and I guess that's my main point. Constructive criticism is fine in my books, but purely negative bashing is a waste of time.
  18. He owns the world record with 9.58 already doesn't he? Broke his own record I believe lol. You know an athlete is good when this post applies.
  19. Agree with large parts of the post. I will break Regier down in to 4 grades though: Draft: B+. Not perfect but he has top 5 % of players who have had success in the league. His a good guy to have on draft day imho. Trade: B+. His ability to get a deal is stunning (Briere, Gausted, Drury, Ott) but sometimes I'm not sure he goes after the best players for the team. Sometimes I think he goes after a good deal instead. Free Agents: D+: I can't think of many successful signings. Ehrhoff is one but I'm struggling beyond that. Creating a team: D: While he's potentially saving himself this season he has so far in his career gone for small, skilled players almost entirely which has caused us a number of already extensively highlighted issues. I don't think his a bottom of the pack GM but I do think his potential far outweighs his proven ability so far. Sad thing is I don't know many GM's I'd prefer (aside from Lou from NJD) currently working.
  20. Good point, it is the dullest part of the hockey calendar. Still I feel as if some fans just can't embrace the good stuff or let go of the bad stuff. How often to we see pages and pages on the amazing run towards the end of the year? Pominville's career numbers or how Myers took the NHL by storm in his rookie year?
  21. I'm amazed at how this board can turn every thread in to a rant about some historical event. This is just pathetic.
  22. As a Brit, I back this statement. Broke the olympic record didn't he?
  23. I had a dream where the teddy in your picture was 10 foot tall and chasing me. I think I ate something off before going to bed... I liked that Lou Bega song.
  24. Dems da rules. You have to play to the best of your ability.
  25. That will always be the The Watchmen song for me. Brilliant, but depressing.
