  1. Mask is almost painted :D

  2. So who's out on Friday? Looking forward to a return to TW :)

  3. One very cute uninvited guest!

  4. There we go, my time on sabrespace.com as drawn to a close. Though they still haven't banned me.

  5. Ok, I'm glad I leave this board having learnt that word. That is pure legend. As stated in other threads, Chz or someone: please block this account or I'll be back to wallow in the misery some more.
  6. Well I feel very good about one thing: Good-bloody-bye. I just cannot take this board anymore, it's unique in it's misery, inability to give up the past or truely accept new posters. While I'll miss certain posters I know most of you won't miss me. Infact, who am I kidding, aside from maybe 1 or two ###### the lot of you! Good bye! Hopefully Chz will block my account
  7. You realise we've agreed about 3 times so far, I have no idea why we're continuing to argue. My biggest hope is that this thread gets closed. It's a shame I'll never make it to 2000 posts.
  8. Famous for being the best set up man currently in the NHL. How is $7.5mill, admittedly more than his worth, not an asset? Ok, I give up, this has genuinely been a huge amount of fun for me but sleep calls and I hate this board so I'll be avoiding it over the weekend (it's offseason, a hockey place is never a fun place to be but this board is like cocaine, pure addiction) so have a good one. I disagree with just about everything said. I don't believe Doan should be signed at that price, I do believe we should go in to the next season minus Leopold and see how we do, if we do badly then act then. I do not presume the worst and I think our wingers and leadership are the smallest of the risks we have. EDIT: I'll TRY to avoid it. As mentioned, there is an addictive quality.
  9. Ok, so by definition almost all players are available, for a price, at least half my list are available not for cheap but I would give up a surprising amount for a player like Brown, Iginla or Thornton. Didn't Arsenal just sell their captain? I want Leopold out anyway, Doan or no Doan, his value is high and we could use the space. We have enough defenders and I'd keep Sekera over him.
  10. LMAO. Post of the day. I've been asked not to be several times. Struck a nerve did I? I'll stop acting like a prick the moment this board stops chirping on about the same ###### year on year. Deal? My point was that to make your sarcastic and snide reference to 'thinking about the game instead' must mean you don't get the connection between physicality/aggression and mental toughness that goes on in a pro athletes mind. BTW, I get more opportunities to watch hockey than you guys over there do, I probably watched around 150 games last season alone.
  11. Out there is a vague term, if he meant available i trust GoDD would have said available. Oh I have more names as well. I can think of players we could get who i'd prefer to go after than Doan at $7.5mill. Let me make this clear, I'm only unhappy with Doan at $5mill or above and 3 years or more.
  12. I just wish you understood a little about sports psychology.
  13. Brown Iginla Chara Ovi Thornton Staal. Named a few there, didn't I.
  14. Note to board: reply with words, I will not watch random videos. Only an idiot replies with a video. Who's RWing the Sedins?
  15. Does he walk on water and feed 5000 people afterwards?
  16. Honest predictions people, who thinks he signs back with Phoenix anyway, who thinks he comes here, who thinks he goes elsewhere? I'm in the 'elsewhere' boat. Who predicts what then?
  17. Dude, I followed Drury's entire career very closely. He was more than just a Sabres player, you know. EDIT: Just to clarify, I do believe they bring the leadership and respect element of the game equally. Both are/were excellent sporting professionals. You have clearly never worked in business. You couldn't be more wrong.
  18. Raffi Torres: physical with no determination. Brown: Physical with a purpose. It's an attitude thing. There's a big difference between the mental and the physical. It's the mental aspect that changes come playoff time, for the successful ones. That influences the physical, but they are not part and parcel the same.
  19. At $7.5mill he has to single handily do it, because we have no cap room beyond that.
  20. I'll dispute Doan being the same as Drury, Drury was in his prime as a player and was a proven clutch performer with a ring. Doan is 'almost as good but not quite' in all of those categories.
  21. Ok, changing the subject slightly. Question: what happens if he chooses another team that put a lesser offer on the table, like Montreal say? Does that damage our reputation?
  22. Don't worry, I was going to reply but I'm not. The idea that hits win games is ludocris. Your statement about 'playing out of character', however, is far closer to the truth. You have to play above your station. I believe the biggest change HAS to be mental, not physical. LA nad Boston would have got nowhere if they were physical without scrabbling, fighting and wanting every puck and every chance. Thats a mental change, not a physical one. To coin a phrase 'step it up'.
  23. Kids are at school or something like that, either way he said it would be 'unfair to uproot them'. No I'm not, I'm making it perfectly clear. NYR can get round their dubious business policies because their a)original 6 and b)New Freekin York. Burying vets and similar business practices deters FA's unless you have something that those players can look past that like New York being New York. What Doan is saying is that unless he knows for certain this ownership bid falls through he'll resign with Phoenix. and with no CBA in sight he has no reason to be in a hurry. Also an excellent point.
