  1. Wait, I thought Grigs was the best faceoff guy?Myers may have height, but I wouldn't call him a tower, unless your comparing him to the Space Needle or CN Tower in Toronto. He was taken down yesterday along the boards by #8, if you want something physical done I think your better off calling Gerbe or Ennis to do it over Myers. People need to stop thinking just because of his heigh he is going to be the next Chara, he is more likely ot be the next Charo then Chara
  2. So wait, what was it, A frisk or was it someone holding a metal detector wand?Theres a big difference here between getting frisked or a wand being waived. I don't know anyone who is going to get off by waiving a metal detector in front of someone (although I guess there are some weird fetishes out there). If this is because they frisked/gave you a pat down, theres a huge issue if the person was male.
  3. Crap, looks like he has to stay up for 7 games in order to get his first point, then play against the Sabres to get his first goals
  4. Yeah, because all of those players who never developped and were ruined by Ruff have gone on to long and propserous NHL careers...........Aside for MacArthurs great start last season, and Kassians 5 games so far this season, who else has gone on to be better with a different coach on a different team?
  5. Yeah, they need to just stop thinking and make a snap decision that could really affect this team either way instead of actually thinking it through and weighing options. THE FANS HAVE TO KNOW IF GRIGS IS STAYING OR GOING RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!! This decision isn't just as simple as keep him or send him down. If you keep him, who do you cut? Can you work out a trade so that you can create a spot for him when guys return from IR? If he stays do you keep him on the same line with the same guys? Is it better to send him back down to log alot of minutes on a top line in Juniors compared to limited time on the 3rd or 4th line? but yeah, us fans have to know NOW so just decide already and don't overthink it. Decision has to be made before Tuesday at 7 i think, if he plays against the Leafs tomorrow he will have played 6 games and is up for the season IIRC............
  6. right now saying that Grigs is our 2nd or 3rd best Centre is like saying he is the tallest midget, its not like teh rest of the centres on this team have been playing like #1 or #2 guys. That still doesn't mean he has done anything special to deserve a spot on the team, but like I said, he also still hasn't done anything that says he deserves not to be on the team and thats the problem that makes this decision tough on the Sabres and makes it a lose/lose no matter what they decide
  7. I think I'm going to blame Ovi for all this, if he would have just put in that empty netter like an NHLer should be able to do instead of hitting the goal post, this situation never would have happened. Milelr would have been back in and they would have ended the game 5on5
  8. The way i look at it, he hasn't really done anything out there to say he has earned a spot on the team to stay up, yet he also hasn't done anything to say that he needs to be sent down either. It would have been so much easier if he would have looked really bad these first five games, or if he would have been lighting it up out there. problem is he hasn't done either and that makes the decision so tough and not as clear to make, a valid arguement could be made either way. The Flyers just sent down Laughton, who was looking much better on the ice then Grigs One of the biggest problems for the team is the fans right now. If Grigs is sent down, for any reason, they will riot that their saviour was not kept up and that its yet another mistake. Yet if he is kept up and does nothing, the same people will complain that the team is holding him back. He is 18 years old, spending the rest of the year in Juniors isn't going to destroy the kid, although staying up and having to face the pressure of a fan base that expects HUGE things from him could hurt his confidence if he doesn't start producing soon. I'm sure that whatever decision the Sabres make, it will be viewed as the wrong one by most here
  9. Everyones blaming Ruff for this, but whos to say that it wasn't a player (Cody?) that ****ed up and didn't get on the ice for the faceoff? The coaches and team are focused on the faceoff looking into the Caps end, they expect a player to be back near the blueline or centre ice just in case as per their plan, then after the faceoff someone realizes they are short and Cody hopes on
  10. About as distressing as having someone in a seperate room that has never seen or met you, that you won't ever see or meet see a silhouette x-ray of your body........... You may not hear regularly of people being caught trying to smuggle something in/on by one of those things, but god help them if someone gets in/on with something and they weren't screened before hand.....
  11. Of course it is, he has lived it many times. Unfortunatly guessing by his posts, he is the chubby slutty girl.......................
  12. wow, watching what the ref did, I would hope the NHL atleast talks to that ref and tells him to take it easy. There was no need for that besides trying to compensate for having tiny junk and wanting to look tough by pushing around someone smaller. I'm almost more pissed off at the teams non existent reaction to what the ref did to him then the reaction to the boarding by the 'canes player.
  13. If anything, I think the pressure is ore from the fans then Lindy. Ruff was the one before the season started that talked about him being good, but warned everyone not to put too much on him this year and was trying to calm the fanbase down who all thought he was going to step in and light the league up. Say what you want about the defence, but Enroth played just as bad as them. He was brutally bad last night on almost all of those goals, If that was Miller in net last night the entire fanbase would be foaming at the mouth for Darcy to cut him. That goal by Skinner Enroth just stood there on his knees and waited for him to put it in top corner, then there was the other one where he actually opened his five hole for i believe Staal to just put it right in. If he has a couple more games like this, expect Miller to have to play 40+ games this season........
  14. Maybe not the team, but I'm sure the guy doing the work may do it as a favour or for a cheap fee just to get the recognition/advertisement.
  15. Is this Carolinas Home Opener? If so, odds are this season Buffalo will win this one, only 12 of 28 teams have won their home openers
  16. Sad thing is, they can afford it, but I doubt any of them actually pay for it themselves out of pocket. I'm sure they have something in their contract where the teams prvide an amount for equipment, or the manufacturer gives them the gear to wear in exchange for them wearing it in games and being free advertisement
  17. ho would have thought years ago that Jagr would be one of those veterans that would help take younger players under his wing and teach them.
  18. Only 30lbs? Maybe the NHL guys where lighter stuff then what most amateurs get to wear.It is amazing how much a energy a quick sequence of a few shots and scramble in front of the net can take out of a goalie. When you face 1-2 shots and make a save and cover up its not bad, throw in a few rebounds and going up and down or side to side a few times in that sequence and it can really wear on you. Now I'm no wear near the shape that Miller or any NHL goalie is in, and I don't play against anything close to NHL like competition, but man, after a 60 minute game my gear is soaked
  19. As long as the rest of the country makes snow and weather jokes about Buffalo (or missed FG/Super Bowl loser jokes), Carolina can be attacked with Nascar jokes
  20. I think that it really has to do right now with how the teams been playing, over the last few years they have had some hot streaks, but they have played alot of bad hockey and that drains alot of the atmosphere from the arena. When the team is playing really well and looking more like a cup contender then a team fighting for the 8th seed, theres less to really cheer about
  21. you could always attend Stars games and sit next to T'eo's girlfriend holding a sign that says "Thanks for OTT, Sorry about Roy"..........
  22. Couldn't happen to a nice guyBut Seriously, a "tough guy" (I use quotes cause his toughness is mostly as a cheap shot artist) is out because of a bruised foot? Can't play through a little pain?
  23. He has the press box, so do they name just the broadcast booth part after RJ?
  24. Why would the Wings want to give up anything for a 2-3 week replacement? Thats why you have atleast 7 defencemen and a minor league system
  25. trust me, working in the construction industry and seeing the "profesionals" work, I wouldn't always go by what they say as being the correct way of doing things. many times those guys don't like change and don't want to do things any different then how they have been doing it even if thats not the best way to do it
