Great night for Buffalo Sports Teams...
Sabres back to October Form
Bills lose Byrd to the New Orleans Saints in Free Agency
I don't think the Saints have the cap for what Greedy Byrd wants.
Scratch that....
Buffalo Sabres Stats @SabresStats 13s
Ville Leino has played in 46 games this season. He has failed to register a shot on goal in 26 of those games, including tonight. #wtf
I knew something was wrong with that stat.
-
If he didn't intentionally redirect that with his skate, I must of been seeing things. When Myers uses his size to hit someone, he can really do some damage.
-
I think what you see with Luke is what you got. He's played in 10 games with the Sabres with year and has one point. For a scorer, that's not going to cut it.
I suppose you're right, I just always thought that he had a lot more to give, maybe he's comfortable being near the top in the AHL.
-
How exactly does a fan, or group of fans, go about replacing anyone? Especially, the owner of the team.
How about a billboard ? :w00t:
-
Although I wasn't impressed with anything he did the other night, I would of liked to see Adam given more than 1 game to get back up to the big club, I don't think it's that important to have Scott, Konopka and Leino in the lineup.
I see Ville Leino is going to go at center, I heard he's a good center.
-
very true. Altho, I'd take Doug Allen on skates over Leino any day...
That creepy pointing at the end of the anthem is enough to make any opponent shiver... ;)
I stopped watching the anthems because it drove me nuts when he does it.
-
in my opinion: McBain is just a disaster. I don't really see many positives with the guy. He's still a couple of steps above Ville though
So are Sabretooth, Doug Allen and the guy that drives the Zamboni.

Patrick Kane still here at FNC taking pictures and signing autographs with fans. Very, very cool thing to see him do.
He had no choice, he couldn't get a cab out. No seriously, that was pretty cool of Kane to do, would love to see him in a Sabres jersey.
You don't have to re-watch the game. He was bad. If memory serves, one of those spirited hits along the boards resulted in him flat on his little fanny, while the dude he hit skated past him.
Now, Conacher and Ennis were spirited. Conacher has a pretty decent two-way game that needs work, but he's not far behind like Hodgson is/was, and it's seems he's willing to do it.
I was hot and cold on Hodgson last night and I really try to look for the good in his game. He struggled on the power play badly, but he has did look more interested in the last couple of games.
Before the game I wasn't so sure about Conacher and Ennis working on the same line (2 small guys), but they looked good together along with Stafford.

Beautiful saucer pass by Myers.
-
I like Kane, but NBC is starting to make me feel otherwise. Get off of his **** already.
-
WTF - Leino got taken out by the linesman? Just when you think he's at rock bottom, he finds a new way to sink lower. LOL
He's sure the linesman took away a good scoring chance from him.
-
such bad officiating tonight in this game, I have not seen it this bad in any game in recent memory...
Last Friday's game comes to mind.
-
Leino, you suck.
In other news, NBC is saying nice things about Sabres players; what's going on?
I was just trying to think, which is the most likely to happen 1st, a hat trick by John Scott, a shutout by Roger Crozier, or a goal by Ville Leino. I think the shutout by Crozier has the best odds.
Doesn't look good on Myers. That was a really strange turn.
(Though I don't think it looked as bad as the announcer stated it. Might be one of those major injuries that was just strange)
I'd say high ankle sprain, which could put him out for weeks, but you never know, we could see him back next period, ankles can be pretty resilient.
-
No tripping on Stafford ?
It didn't take long for that line to score once Leino was removed.
-
You have to be ######in kidding me.
-
15-2 in penalty minutes not counting the game misconduct.
Final tally, Buffalo - 27 minutes, Florida - 4 minutes. Good to see the refs called this one pretty even.
I hope they keep Deslauriers up.
Conacher-Ennis-Stafford
Deslauriers-Hodgson-Foligno
Flynn-Girgensons-D'Agostini
Scott-Kenonpka-Ellis
Ehrhoff, Myers, Tallinder, McBain, Weber and Klesla on defense. (Might as well call up Klesla since he's an expensive vet and hasn't played in Rochester yet so it won't hurt them).
Where's Ville ?
I starting to think I sound like a broken record, but I can't understand why Leino is put anywhere near any of the top lines, or any line at that. Knowing that he is the Sabres highest paid forward is sickening. At the rate he's going, he's going to make around $125,000 per shot on goal.
-
Damn, something crawled up Ennis' ass today. He's pretty vicious when he wants to be.
Both Ennis and Flynn have both been mauled a couple of times, it has to get pretty frustrating after awhile.
-
It's nuts. 4 of 5 since the break. Puck control is still horrible though, so nothing to get too excited (or errr upset) about.
They're still not pretty, but they compete and they are winning. A little confidence can go a long way.
-
I think it was even earlier than that.
It's all part of my plan, you know?
It was a pretty underhanded way of doing it.
-
Since losing is contagious and losing cultures are like a cancer, I don't want to lose. I never want to lose.
Win as much as we can no matter what.
I'm with you, I just can't ever imagine myself wanting a team I root for to lose.
You must enjoy mediocrity.
Is there some guarantee that says if you lose 2-3 years in a row you will suddenly become a winner ? Draft picks and prospects are fine, if they turn out, but you need veterans and proven NHL'ers on the roster and losing badly for a couple of years, is not going to attract many good ones. Also no matter how good Connor McDavid may be, one player does not make a team. I can't see a team of 18-22 year olds being very successful in the NHL without some quality experienced players.
-
Jeebuz, are we blaming Enroth for that shortie? It's 50/50 when you give an NHLer a shot from the slot like that. Blame Ennis for the turnover that set that up.
I can't blame Enroth or Ennis, if I blame anyone it's Eleven for posting this (below) with 6 minutes left in the game.
"Damn, ETHRON deserves this shutout, go get it, boys!"
-
Enroth 3 and 1 in last 4 starts with a .932 save %. Since being the #1 goalie his save % is .949, pretty impressive.
-
Again big Tyler anticipates a pass, steps up and picks it off to start the play, he's seeing the game big time.
-
Someone on the bench really needs to tell Leino that Tyler Ennis is on his team, the 2nd check he put on him, this time in the slot.

18 goals on 62 penalty shots doesn't seem like a high percentage reward for being interfered with on a breakaway. I'm sure when the goalies and their equipment didn't take up 60% of the net, a penalty shot was a bigger deal. Maybe they should award a minute long penalty with it also, no matter the outcome of the shot. Any thoughts ?
