Nice pass by Hodgson, I think it surprised Ennis a little.

OMG :worthy:

Stafford just gave Leino a look like "what the ###### are you doing" ?
What has Ville done to deserve the ice time that he's getting with Stafford and Ennis ? Confusing to me.
How does Rayzer see that as a good period by the Sabres ? They gave up a goal, had their goalie stand on his head to keep another 1 or 2 out and had only 4 shots on goal. I'm not the "expert" Ray is, but I wouldn't consider that a good period.

Nice goal McBain.
-
Ennis pointless in the last 3 games, 4 games for Stafford. Looking for both of them to get on the score sheet tonight.
Hackett has not looked sharp in the last 2 games, he hasn't had a lot of help from the defense, but that's the norm for any Buffalo goalie.
Ville Leino scores a  ...................................never mind.

All Girgs.
Gus tipped the puck before it got to Hodgson, he should receive a well deserved assist.
Can Ehrhoff care any less?
GO SABRES!!
Ehrhoff has been making Mike Weber look good recently. IMO since the trade deadline he has played like he has no interest in being here.

WADR, it is pretty sad that we're excited about the return of a guy who has only scored 6 goals... as if that'll make a damned bit of difference on this team.
Don't get me wrong, I like Gus and recognize he's got a ton of "up side" but... ;)
I don't think the goal output is what's making people excited to see him, it's seeing a player put in 100% effort and also getting a glimpse of the future.

This might be the best the line-up and line combinations have looked in a while.
-
Looks like Ville finally scored. Maybe that's how he got an upper body injury.

Kelly and Thurman, teaming up again. Great picture of two teammates forever.

03/27 – THE MORNING SKATE: RISTOLAINEN, LARSSON BACK ON EMERGENCY BASIS (Chris Ryndak – Sabres.com)
PROJECTED LINEUP
82 Marcus Foligno – 63 Tyler Ennis – 21 Drew Stafford
88 Cory Conacher – 19 Cody Hodgson – 23 Ville Leino
44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 65 Brian Flynn – 27 Matt D’Agostini
32 John Scott – 22 Johan Larsson – 37 Matt Ellis
I see that Nolan has given Hodgson the help he needed by putting Leino on his line.
-
If that is the case we should just shut Myers down for the year. He can fully heal and start preparing for next year.
I agree.
-
\Larsson. Two S's.
Hey, I got Pominville right, first time in 5 years. lol
-
Not as knowledgeable as a lot of you guys...who is Larson (#22) and what can we expect from him??
Thanks 26CornerBlitz for these pregame updates
ArtWanderer (BringBackFergy from TBD)
Larson came to the Sabres in the Pominville trade, he played about 15-20 games early this season, he hasn't played since the beginning of the year. I don't think he scored (to lazy to look it up this morning), but I know the Sabres where high on him during training camp, but I think he was sent down to the Amerks after not producing with the Sabres (they could send the whole team down for that reason).

Looks as if Tyler Myers will be out again, I haven't heard if it's a new injury after being tripped into the net the other night, or if it's still the elbow. I don't think he looked ready to play against the Habs, he looked tentative and slow to react, possibly because he was unsure of the elbow.
Against all odds, I'm gonna predict that Ville Leino is going to score tonight, not one goal, but two. I will not go as far to say, whose net they'll be in, but he will net two of them.
As always, great job 26, thank you.

Elliott had a shutout. It's a wonder the Blues continue to start Miller.
Honestly I don't understand why they ever bothered to get Miller, Elliott has had good numbers all year. With that big defense the Blues they can get by with an average goalie, maybe that's why they got Miller.
-
I only caught the last two; the bright spots:
1. Hodgson. Nice moves tonight, even though there wasn't a goal at the end of them. Smooth play all game.
Hodgson's taken a lot of flack lately (I given a lot myself), but last night he looked like the kind of player he can be, not just because of the one play, but he was carrying the puck, something he abandoned doing for the last month or more and it was good to see. Maybe something Nolan said to him struck a chord and he starts playing like he's capable of. I do hope that it isn't just a 1 or 2 game thing though.

Montreal has some real bad ######, going after Ennis and Conacher.

-
That last replay, it looked like Weber put it in.
-
There's no penalty on that trip ? You have to be kidding me ?
-
Hackett looks better tonight than he did the last game he played.
The game where he stopped 35 of 36 shots for the win ?
-
Man, Ennis just got abused on that shift, he took a crosscheck to the back, then got tripped by the goalie and then ended up getting his face smashed into the boards. I guess he's so small, the officials don't see him.
