Did anyone else see Thorton just punch little Gerbe right in the face?
Everyone punches GERBE, there's no chance of retaliation, he's like a punching bag. Maybe ROY should punch him, it worked to get rid of CONNELLY. I know, I know, ROY didn't punch......

I rewound the play right before the goal at the other end. Chara goes after Gerbe's head with his elbow,.. blatantly. If Gerbe fell to the ice it would have been a call.
I wouldn't bet on any ref calling something Buffalo's way.

I'm hoping that we don't have to see GERBE on the top line tonight, playing there the other night really exposed how bad he's playing. In 37 NHL games he has 2 goals, that just doesn't cut it.

Back to back victories, way to go SABRES. I hope the GERBE experiment with ROY and VANEK is over with, put him on a bus to Portland.

MILLER came up big in that period. Hopefully they have a repeat of the first period and not the second.

Physically, they're taking it to the Leafs, I know it hard to keep that up for three periods but they need to keep pressing. Fun period to watch. :clapping:

We need some goals, I know that the ROY, VANEK, ENNIS line is not the French Connection, but they are the only combination that has had some success together. Why is it that LINDY insist on putting anyone but ENNIS on that line (I know they were together for a couple of shifts last game), is this LINDY using ENNIS as his whipping boy, any mistake by him is going to get him tossed from the top line. Why can't we ever stick with the same line combos, other than the C-H-P line ? The idea of spreading out the top players is obviously not working, put together a top line and ride them to some goals.

that's how they appear on the jersey, it becomes a habit lol. but at the same time it (probably unintentionally) serves the same purpose as "tags" -- you know who the post is about before you can read it.

Thank you, I've couldn't explain it better myself. It's something I've always done on sports boards for a couple of reasons.

What is LINDY doing with the lines ? At times he seems clueless. Also Montador did great against OVIE, why does LINDY play SEKERA against CROSBY instead ? LEOPOLD didn't see much time either. I can never figure LINDY out.

Enroth to start? If he does enough to help this team get two points today he needs to be the #2 goalie full time.
If they start ENROTH tonight, I can't see ever going back to LALIME, whatever confidence he might of had will be ripped away by starting ENROTH. I think LALIME played good the last time out, he did give up a stupid goal, but he made some nice saves. I would play him tonight, if not, bring up ENROTH full time.

Seriously, get this done. I think your only 3 options are Gaustad, Roy or Vanek. Although Roy is playing well, not sure he is C material. Vanek needs to concentrate on the goals as he gets thrown off his game too easily so that leaves the Goose. It looks like these past two games have been his best of the year so it would be perfect to hand it over to him and let him run with it...OK, so who do I call?
I don't want my captain to be a player that shows up once every 10 games. Give it to ROY, maybe it will mature him a little more.

Good win, It's nice to see some players get on the scorecard. MILLER also had a pretty solid game, other than the 1st goal.

Personally, I'd like to take out Larry Quinn first and foremost.
But that's not going to happen, so here's my reax:
I'm not so sure about Lalime -- after all, any back-up goalie is a back-up goalie for a reason. And the reason is that he's not good enough to start.
Grier is not the player he was a few years ago, but I think he might have value at one of thoe locker-room rah-rah kind of guys.
As for the other three -- take 'em out back and shoot 'em. And throw in Stafford while you're at it.
If that doesn't do the trick -- take out Morrisonn, Gaustad and Pominville.

Pull MILLER and send out GRIER, great coaching move. The team played hard, but some of these slugs are going to have to start putting the puck in the net. Too bad they don't count the shots that hit the net behind the glass as goals, the CONNELLY line would lead the league.

For the life of me I don't understand why he is out there, how many PP's is he going to have to wreck before they keep him on the bench. :wallbash:

You realize they are playing one of the best teams in the NHL, right? And that team is going to be PO'd about losing to the Sabres a week ago? And their best player, who is either the best or 2nd-best player in the league, is going to be PO'd about being invisible in that game? Or do you think the great Tim Connolly is going to take over this game and shut down Ovi in the process?
I wouldn't count on CONNOLLY for anything, but I do believe that MONTADOR had a big part of shutting down OVIE last week and hopefully they'll have him matched up again.

Yep, the second line of 29-55-19 is pathetic. I think I laughed for an entire period at this sign: Pominville Population-1.
It's not only that they haven't been scoring, but I believe that they are a -19 combined.

They played real good the last ten minutes. The ROY line is getting some good chances, hopefully they'll bury a few tonite before LINDY breaks them up, too Offensive minded, LINDY doesn't like that. ;)

Did they give ADAM 4 minutes because it looked like it hurt, I didn't see any blood ? Great game by VANEK, too bad he didn't bury that slapper that hit the post, then WEBER's brain fart wouldn't of been that costly. ROY ? :doh:
