Your second statement isn't true. He may have received a star in his first game or two but his play quickly fell off and his minutes were cut back drastically after that. The fact is he didn't play too bad the first couple of games. If the Vancouver media was responsible for doing what you say to try and placate the fans they would be run out of town. Vancouvers media and fanbase are pretty knowledgable about hockey and this fanbase wouldn't allow themselves to be hoodwinked in the way you claim. Maybe I missed some sarcasm?

According to Vancouver media ( apparently he met with the canucks brass on tuesday and things went very well ) the most important thing to Doan right now is the chance to win a cup. We're out. The way this team is currently built I have to think we don't fit his criteria. Its a shame cause he would change the character and attitude of this locker room in so many ways not to mention the mentorship for the young-uns. I suppose we can always dream.

Its funny but the only place you hear Doan and the sabres mentioned in the same conversation is here. In other media sources from north of the border they mention the Phillys the Rags the Canucks etc. but in most articles and talk radio I've read or listened to no mention of the Sabres. I would think that makes us a very long shot to land him.

I agree that there has to be a response. A message is sent to the other team and the entire league whether you respond or not. Its almost impossible as a team to recover from a lack of response and as we are seeing now changes in one form or another are required.

Not to stick up for the Canadian announcers because I don't even particularly like them but there's homerism from every corner in the olympic games. Everyone does it. I think within the team dynamic the only way this could ever happen if at all is if the disruptive person were the strongest personality in the group, i.e. the alpha. There's no way in hell Semin is the strongest personality in that room. Whoever is would set him straight. Who really knows if he's as disruptive as people here seem to believe anyways ? Malholtra hasn't been the same player since his eye injury. This past season he was a shadow of his former self and unfortunately talk from Vancouver Media is he has lost his effectiveness. Don't want him.

Dave Pratt out of Vancouver is claiming the Canucks have held talks with Doan continually since free agency started and are front runners to land him. Claims Doans agent let that little nugget go in conversation with Pratt. Take it for what its worth. Not sure if Pratt has an inside scoop or if he was even talking with Doans agent but thats what he said on rock 101 this morning.

I'll watch when they make womans pole dancing an event. Even more so if its womans doubles. Oh ya !
