  1. If it is high, it will be awhile for sure.
  2. Keep the Caps on there heals. This is good.
  3. Dear Coach. In all your years involved with ice hockey perhaps you haven't noticed that the key to effective power play is rapid puck movement. You have an advantage and someone is always going to be open to shoot. Get the puck to that individual and have him fire away. You won't give him that optimal opportunity unless you move the puck quickly and locate that guy. Try it; you might like it.
  4. Not gonna argue with you. Bottom line is keep Sam and ERod together.
  5. It's really strange that a coach who was a top scoring defenseman is clueless about PP.
  6. Right, and perhaps reunite him with Pominville for a real shot in the OLD arm.
  7. It's a long time Sabres thing, dating back to the Ruff years.
  8. One thing Caps are doing well is having two players forecheck. Effective forechecking is "gold" and for so many teams it's an afterthought.
  9. Mild manner coach; mild mannered team; someone get angry.
  10. That's what this team is pretty much doing with this season.
  11. Perhaps he's been playing hurt for a while.
  12. It's all up to the defense.
  13. Like that second line.
  14. Talented players can be less productive and viewed as trade options if they haven't been placed in optimal (for them) situations, i.e. utilized with players that best mesh with them. Also, early on Sheary was gaining familiarity with a new organization, new city, and new group of teammates. The fact that he's been producing better of late should put trade discussion on hold, despite the approaching trade deadline. We have larger concerns right now, including improving defensive schemes and overall coaching considerations.
  15. Always liked him but Erod liking the net also works for me.
  16. Gilbert Perreault had many off nights. Don't take it too hard.
  17. IQ at the coaching level is inherent. It's difficult to change and thus convey smarts when necessary. Phil was quite an offensive defenseman; he wasn't a cover guy. Are any of his assistants truly defense oriented?
