  1. This is certainly possible, but I'm not aware of any reason to favor that narrative over 11's.
  2. Both of these are quite fair. I think Reich has made a reasonably good name for himself as an offensive coordinator, so he knows the NFL reasonably well, but I don't have a strong preference for a former Bill -- just someone who knows the league. Well, I guess this depends on how you feel about the PLF/GMTM prow-cess. My sense was that PLF was in charge of finding good GM candidates, but that both PLF and TP participated in the interviews with all of the candidates and in the selection of GMTM -- with the understanding that GMTM, once hired, would choose a coach, pick the players and generally run the team like a GM typically would (although that would certainly include meeting with ownership from time to time). That's kinda what I'd like to see with the Bills. If they get to, say, 2-6, they should fire Brandon, Whaley and Rex, let Anthony Lynn coach out the string, hire a PLF-type adviser immediately to help them find a GM ASAP, and then let that GM hire the new coach, run the draft, etc. EDIT: I suppose your post means that you don't think TP/KP would step back from the Bills in the same way that they seem to have done with the Sabres. You could be right, of course, but I think it's more likely that they would act in the way they've previously acted.
  3. I'm glad you're feeling no pain! In all seriousness, I would freaking love Frank Reich or Bill Polian or someone else with credibility to come in and act as special adviser to TP/KP in the hiring of a new GM after TP/KP fire Brandon, Whaley and Rex (and Overdorf, Littman, etc.).
  4. Well, I have a similar impression as to Rex being more the Pegulas' guy than DW's, but I nevertheless believe that if Rex gets canned it will be part of a broader housecleaning that will include DW.
  5. Well, I've got Nelson and Bailey, but I think dudacek is probably right that Franson will probably start the year in the lineup, and in that case it will make more sense for Nelson to be playing in Rochester than riding the bench in Buffalo. I'm kinda hoping that GMTM doesn't bring in another Benoit/Meszaros type as the #7 -- and BTW Lindholm still doesn't have a contract from Anaheim! -- but it's certainly possible
  6. I thought Ralph told him to fire his ST coach -- who had never coached ST -- and Wade refused, so Ralph fired him (and then, IIRC, Ralph tried to get out of paying Wade, and Wade had to threaten to sue before Ralph ended up begrudgingly paying him).
  7. Pretty entertaining stuff. NA's level of speed and skill at forward is really impressive. Russia vs. Team NA Monday night (ie tomorrow) at 7:30 pm.
  8. Which last 3? Mularkey, Marrone and who else? Wade? He got canned, innit?
  9. Years of neglect have left you impatient my friend. Eichel and Reino haven't even started their 2nd year!
  10. Well, his title is President, which doesn't imply any limitations. He also chose Whaley and was reportedly substantially involved in hiring Rex and the Watkins trade. I want him gone because he's presided over the generation in the wilderness.
  11. What did he say? I don't see a story on the WGR website.
  12. I think legit HC and GM candidates will line up for the Bills' job once Brandon and Whaley are gone. There are very few of these jobs, and TP/KP have demonstrated their willingness to throw money at the situation.
  13. Me too, although I'd like to see Ennis reassert himself in the "best short forward wearing #63 in the division" race this year.
  14. Or Nylander? Does anyone have any info on the forward lines / D pairings?
  15. So after listening to Rex's presser, I think there's a pretty good likelihood that canning Roman was indeed at Rex's initiative, and not forced by TP/KP. (Not certain though by any means.) In particular, it sounded like Rex did not like the way TT was being utilized. I'd guess that Rex wants to see TT using his legs more. Rex also mentioned wanting to get more out of Watkins -- entirely reasonable after the way he was used in the first 2 games. I may be kidding myself, but I also have a hard time believing that TP/KP really ordered Rex to fire Roman. I don't think I've ever heard of anything like that happening in week two of an NFL season. They might have asked Rex a bunch of tough questions about the offense, but that isn't the same thing as a ordering him to fire his coordinator. So if in fact this was Rex's call, he is really going to have to deliver a good rest of the season in order to save his job. And, I have to believe that if Rex goes, Whaley is definitely gone and quite possibly Brandon as well. (Let's remember that Ted Black was given his walking papers by the Sabres after failing in a similar role to the one Brandon has now.) That would mean probably a much stronger front office next season, including the draft – with grown-ups making decisions on trades and so forth. Or, Rex and Lynn really deliver the goods by unlocking the potential of TT, Watkins, Clay, McCoy and Dareus, and the Bills make a miracle run to 10 and 6. Either of those works for me.
  16. Well, for the first 13 years or so, Ralph was the big one. There's also alleged salary cap wizard Jim Overdorf.
  17. Wow. If Brandon or TP forced the firing of Roman, it's an ever bigger clown show than I thought.
  18. FIFY.
  19. Bills remaining schedule: Sep. 25 Cardinals Oct. 2 at New England Patriots Oct. 9 at Los Angeles Rams Oct. 16 San Francisco 49ers Oct. 23 at Miami Dolphins Oct. 30 New England Patriots Nov. 7 at Seattle Seahawks Nov. 20 at Cincinnati Bengals Nov. 27 Jacksonville Jaguars Dec. 4 at Oakland Raiders Dec. 11 Pittsburgh Steelers Dec. 18 Cleveland Browns Dec. 24 Miami Dolphins Jan. 1 at New York Jets Certain losses: - Cardinals - both Patriots games - Seattle - at Cinci - Pittsburgh - at Raiders Probable losses: - 49ers - at Jets - one of the Miami games Probable wins: - at Rams - one of the Miami games - Jaguars - Cleveland That's 4-12, with the possibility of flexing to 6-10. I don't think they'll do better than 6-10.
  20. Ted Washington was -- but he was a far superior player.
  21. Really? You think that if the Bills finish 5-11 and look like a team in disarray -- which is certainly a highly likely scenario -- they are going to bring him back? I will be very surprised if this happens.
  22. The likelihood of this being Rex's last season in Buffalo has to be at least 85% right now.
  23. Holy mackerel. The wheels are officially coming off.
  24. They've thrown our love away. Now we're just going through the motions.
  25. He was joking you hoser.
