This game is over. Keep the losing going Buffalo. I want a top three pick! All these years of late playoff pushes have doomed this squad from picking up some serious talent. The question is how does Buffalo suck next year so we have a shot at McDavid. A top three pick plus McDavid would make this suffering all worth while. Plus should be interesting what the islanders do with their pick. I still think they finish in the bottom ten and draft this year.

Vanek isn't coming back end of story. I still think he replaces Heatley at the end of the season. Buffalo actually has a better chance at Heatley since Murray and Danny were both with Ottawa. Not that I want Heatley but Murray is going to make some sort of moves or the fans are gonna be pissed if it's the same squad like this season. I'm all for one more. $hit year if we have a solid shot at McDavid. But that's just me. A player like McDavid doesn't come around that often.

I agree if we trade Moulson who in the heck is going to put the puck in the net and you lose another solid player for what a guy that might make the team in 3-4 years. A team that's gonna trade for Moulson is going to land you probably a 1st rounder in the 20's. We can't lose every veteran on this squad. I would like to keep this same $hit squad for one more year minus miller so we have a solid shot at McDavid. A player like McDavid doesn't come around that often and I would like to get him! Then after next season it's all about putting together the best possible team.

I'm all for one more year at the tank job and a solid shot at McDavid. We know Leino sucks but we still need some salary on this team so we don't fall below the league minimum. Even if we land a top 3 pick this year we could use at at one more to help out. Players like McDavid don't come around that often. Right now we have one second line and 3 fourth lines.

At least Edmonton has won two in a row hopefully they can put together a few more and put some separation between them and us. Same goes for Calgary. I just want a crack at Bennett or Reinhart! Plus it should be interesting with the Islanders. Do they keep that pick and give us a shot next year. I highly doubt the Islanders are going to be much better next year. It's not a free agents priority to go there.

It's going to be interesting to see if other teams make a move on either of them before the Olympic break.

I would be up for that St Louis deal if it's Ty Rattie as the prospect.

Yeah this. Part of me wants Miller traded and then the other half is saying what could we get for him. A top prospect and a first would be great but the first is going to be real late . It's going to be interesting to see what Murray has in store. I notice Miller plays great in Olympic years so he upped his trade value at least!

If Vanek leaves it will be hard for them to fill his spot unless Moulson goes back to the Island.

I agree if this team has sunken this low why not suck one more year for a chance at two franchise players!

Thornton and Marleau aren't leaving San Jose. I highly doubt Alfredsson comes to Buffalo. Jagr will go to the highest bidder.

You want a franchise player for the future we need to be at the bottom 3 next season. No need to rush the kids. Plus with the new management style of letting the kids develop into men and giving them time I think it's a good chance we finish at the bottom. If any team can't afford another bad season it's Edmonton. We are bad this year but they have been bad for how many years now. They need to make an effort now to get better. We still are in stage one. There are no unrestricted free agents upcoming this year except Vanek that are going to help the offense. It's a strong possibility that we are in the McDavid sweepstakes!

My personal opinion is that since the new management coming in these players getting drafted in the first round are going back to their respected league before they are on the roster full time. I don't care if we have 2 top five picks this year. Last years draft was regarded as one of the best since 2003. Have u guys listened to Nolan talk about the kids they need more time and that's what's going to happen. They are not going to rush these players like Edmonton is doing. Look how well that's going for them. Not saying Hall and Nugent-Hopkins are bad but that team has been bad for awhile now. Look at Darnell Nurse they are not rushing him like they did with other top picks. They have new management as well. You can Think what u want but whoever they draft this year might get a sampling of games and that's it. This team won't be much better next year so rushing picks is foolish. Just look at the Grigo situation.

If all of Buffalo's 1st from this years draft are not in the lineup full time this year what makes u think that there pick from this year will be in next years lineup? Do u see the new management style happening here?

What u forget that draft was suppose to be one of the better ones since the 2003 drafts. Whoever this team drafts this year will be going thru development under this new management. They are not going to use the Regier and Edmonton style to develop these players! That's why I said it's going to be 3-5 years before we see playoffs. With fewer high end talent hitting unrestricted free agency the years of a quick turn around isn't going to happen.

Well there isn't any good ones in 2014 unless u want Vanek back.

It would speed up the rebuild but I still believe whoever is taken in the draft this year or next is still at least a couple of years before touching nhl ice on a regular basis. That's why I think it's going to be 3-5 years before we are playoff bound

I still see the Sabres being 3-5 years before they make the playoffs. No matter who they draft this year and in 2015 they won't be ready to step in right away. Besides Armia they don't have anyone that is a pure goal scorer in the system. It's going to take awhile to clean up this mess. None of these kids they draft in 2014 are going to step into the nhl. Plus with the change of management into developing these kids and with Nolan behind the bench no matter who they draft they will be right back in junior the next year. There are no great unrestricted free agents this year unless you want Vanek back. This is going to take some time.

It's funny but I thought those same 4 players stood out to me as well. Both Scherbak and Goldobin stood out to me because they can skate and have skill. Reinhart has a great all around game. I was also impressed by Ekblad he seems like a big defenseman that took control at times. Lemieux seem okay as well. I was mainly looking at skating and there skill set. As much as people hate Stafford, Grigs game isn't even close to Stafford. I'm all for Grigs going down he needs to work on his skating and work on his game more. Not smart for a kid to challenge a new GM with a proven guy that has been around a long time in Patrick and a player that is a hall of famer.

I don't want him either. Yeah I'm sure Grigs feels he is better than the bottom six guys on this current squad but he isn't seeing the whole picture. They don't want him to be a bottom six player. If Drouin can play juniors right now than Grigs should be there to. To me Drouin is going to be a great player. He can skate, has good moves and has great vision. All the things that Grigs doesn't possess. Me personally, I think JT Compher is going to be a much better player than Grigs. Grigs skating sucks and his work ethic ain't much better. I haven't been impressed with what I seen from him. He's not a top center period and probably never will be!
