  1. If this happens, I'll feel like the Sabres could have asked for just a little more. Like maybe Anaheim needs to throw a veteran in there. But I'll be ok--just ok--with it.
  2. There was no downside to the Hall acquisition. The problem was the trade. Adams was had.
  3. I'll ask Mrs. Weave then.
  4. So @Weavedid you get laid Tuesday or not, FFS? 30th anniversary and you're on here posting about fishing. Geez.
  5. ***** off.
  6. If not for the ranDom capital letter in the middle of this post, I would say it is the wisest post I've seen in a bit. (And yes, I needed to mention the random capital letTer just to mess with you.)
  7. If by "grit" you mean Kucherov going down at a tap on the leg and drawing a fine for his opponent, sure.
  8. He was drafted to be a center and he should have been a center all along. And I want him here. I know he has leverage, but I still want him here.
  9. ***** this *****.
  10. But they might end up with more to protect after the trade. Can't know for certain.
  11. Danault is what he is: a good defensive forward who excels at faceoffs. He's Gaustad. I wouldn't mind him here but I wouldn't break the bank for him.
  12. It's what NBC does. They pick one athlete, seemingly at random, like Karch Kiraly, and harp on about how great he/she is through an entire series/Olympics/golf tournament/whatever. It must be in their internal style manual or something.
  13. Agree w/ the second part but check @Randall Flagg's post regarding the first part.
  14. Jessie Pegula has made the US Olympic team. Accusations of meddling in 5...4...3...
  15. It has been insane the last few months.
  16. Hey! @josiemade that!
  17. Well it's just as disturbing today.
  18. I can imagine what the thread here would have looked like.
  19. Now THAT was a game of bounces, and they all went Tampa's way.
  20. Oh, Hammy (any relation to Paul?) may have, with currency, and Chernow may have been right. I've no idea. I suspect that it's correct. But the metric system, the decimal calendar, and the decimal clock (yes they tried) were borne from the French Revolution, which was in 1789, and it took them a few years to get all of it going. There's no way that a decimal American dollar, if it began in 1790, was based upon a French metric system. We still serve real pours here, though. In all kinds of weather.
  21. Decimal currency, yeah. Metric system though? The French were just starting to think about it in 1790. And a decimal calendar along with it.
  22. I didn't think *anyone* was using the metric system in 1790.
  23. Depends on the roster. If he has a reasonable NHL roster to work with, 20 or 30 games. If the Sabres are hitting the reset button again, longer.
  24. Go through the thread concerning the hiring of Adams if you want; I'm not going through the exercise again here.
  25. We don't need to "realize" any such thing. That's the hypothesis some people have put forward, is all.
