So, hypothetically speaking, let's say Jack plays 15-20 games to show people he's healthy. What happens if he scores 10-15 points and the Sabres go 11-4 or 14-6. Does that change anything on either side?

The search landed exactly where it should have. On a guy who can work with and develop young players. Someone who will coach them through mistakes and put them in position to overcome or correct them. A vet coach chewing up and spitting these guys out wouldn't move the needle forward IMO.

Hoping for a few more RJ calls for the ages, he deserves to go out on a high note. These young kids may provide a few of those opportunities even if they are mostly in losing efforts.

Calgary is intriguing. Tkachuk won't be coming back but I'd love a player like him on Sabres ice. At this point it's becoming less likely a trade even happens.

I could see this guy carving out a 6-8 year career in the NHL on someones 3rd pair. He plays with some edge.

I don't think Sam will be useless but he will struggle to get used to playoff hockey. I think he'll have some moments and make some plays because he is willing to go to the dirty areas but I don't believe he will be as successful as the regular season because of what teams can get away with in the playoffs. I would have said the same thing if he was still in Buffalo as well.

What a finish in Iowa. I hope they have more games planned here, it's a pretty awesome environment.
