You are correct. This is a make or break year, not so much for Adams but for Dahl's and Tage, and probably Tuch if he takes a wait n see strategy to resigning. But I think this off-season has been markedly different from the rest of Adams tenure. There has been a change of philosophy from the fast and skilled Granato model that peaked two years ago when they reached 91 points and just missed. Now the focus is on toughness and being harder to play against. Jarmo Kekalainen must be having something to say about it. I also think Ruff is adding his two cents as well. Every player except Lyon has fit that mold. You may not like what the Sabres have done this off-season, but to say they've done little or nothing couldn't be further from the truth.

Yes there is a question of who will end up owning the arena, but the arena is not going away. The Sabres have made no threats to leave, not overtly or covertly. So they will keep playing at KBC. They said nothing is getting done until the new Bills stadium is done, which is understandable. Besides, the hand-off between county and city needs to be settled first.

That is when the city and county lease expires. I jut looked this up: The Sabres lease is up at the end of the 26-27 season, but the team has an option to extend 5 years to 2032.

I imagine the Sabres and PEG will assume full control of the arena. The lease between the city and county expired. When does the lease between the Sabres and the arena end?
