I use to go to the Holiday Twin Rinks in Cheektowaga to watch the practices. Had all the autographs on sheet of paper that I taped to my wall. Wish I kept that. French Connection, Korab, Schony, Brian Spencer. I even picked up Rocky Farr's goalie stick. He and Scheonfeld were the last two on the ice with Rocky taking shots. I heard him say he broke his stick. Off they skated and when Rocky went by I asked for his stick. Used it in street hockey games for a while. :) Great memories.

I'm with you. I remember those days very well and I'm 10 years older then the Sabres! Lost track of them for a few years when I moved to LA and could only follow via the LA Times or an occasional game in town or TV game. Crozier was fun to watch!

I thought the article was spot on. Just look at the bench while watching the game. Ruff has lost this team and I do think he needs a change of scenery. He is a damn good coach and will benefit by moving on. Darcy needs to go as well, but before that happens I would love to see what a different coach could do with these players. Lindy has to go.

Living in Phoenix and as a Buffalo native, I don't want the Sabres to do what the Yotes did. Fall in love with a coach (Gretzky and part owner) where you are killing the skills of the players as a lousy coach. Gretzky made $8 mil a year and couldn't be fired as a part owner. HE DESTROYED hockey in PHX. Lindy is doing the same in BFLO. You can't say he played for us, coached for us and been here for 900 years. Sorry. The game has outgrown Lindy and we need a new coach.

IMO, there is skill....it's killed in "the system". Lindy needs to go.

I expect nothing from them. They can expect I won't ever buy merchandise again. Did it with football years ago and will do it to the NHL too.

I stopped buying "pro" merchandise when the NFL went on strike the first time with one exception. The Sabres classic jersey from the first winter classic. I won't buy merchandise. I kick myself for buying the NFL and NHL packages on Directv. I should just watch the games offered and catch up here and at twobillsdrive. I'm sure with more crap like this I won't mind giving up my $$ to directv and the NFL/NHL.

I haven't been back home in years....maybe the early 2000's. It was a Buffalo-Toronto trip so my nephew (born and raised in AZ) could go to the HOF and see the CUP, he was playing in the high school league at the time. Best food for me on the trip was the Canadian bacon sandwich at the St. Lawrence Market. Found a place in Phx that makes a decent Beef on Weck which I drove to yesterday just to have comfort food after a bad day.

I haven't intended to insult anyone when I said "most fancy"...all I meant was Phoenix, IMO, can't top the Buffalo area churches in architecture.
