Black announces new 3rd jersey for 2013/14 season
Ghost of Dwight Drane replied to Two or less's topic in Archive
People have their panties in a bunch for no reason. I was making a simple observation that the entire crew on that mid-summer caravan had all been recently demoted. I'd like to pull up the 4th grade, state sanctioned test scores of some here.....because I swear we would be seeing plenty of Sidney Crosbys and Marcus Folignos. Jeez! -

Nothing has changed. I explained that Jamison only signs the deal if Glendale gives him the $300 million and $125 million over the next 5 years. Glendale says "buy the team and we'll talk terms of the arena." He has money to buy the team....but not the extra $125 million to cover losses the next 5 years. Glendale is bust even without the Coyotes....if the tax is recinded, they have to cut more services than you can count. Doan himself says he wants a deal by the 13th.....and mentions the possibility of the deal falling through or Jamison not being the owner over a half dozen times. Doan wants to stay in Phoenix...nobody has denied that. They have 1 week to have Glendale roll over for the NHL.....all with a mayoral election amongst others coming up in 2 months. I know the article was more than 12 words, so many don't want to read it.....but there is nothing new in there. -

The caravan consisted of everyone that crapped the bed last year and got replaced... McKee - no longer coach Gare - no more color Neale - swap with Razor Lieno - $$ down the toilet My guess is if Uncle Cliff wasn't in the Sabretooth costume, Kevin Sylvester is. I wonder if Terry still pays them their old salaries and expects them to do this, or they need the gig, or it is just for the heck of it? -
Those are some anorexic buffalo. Lindy must have told them they were too slow and out of shape.

Obviously the Hairclub for Men didn't hold up. Is Uncle Cliff in the costume? -
I think Bill Clinton's nose......and John Muckler's nose....need to have a throwdown....... That was quite the oral vote on God and Jerusalem. I guess Jesus was right....they would deny him 3 times and then a giant ###### would crow.

Heck no! I'm glad the Sabres identified what they need and are taking a shot at it. I also wouldn't fault anyone for laying low for sake of family. It's just that this thing feels "weak". You would know that of anyone here. If Doan thinks he is staying in Phoenix....he could very well end up in Quebec and hate himself for it. Better to control your own destiny, and get a payday at the same time. -

There was just a story the last few days about athletes getting burned of their money because they don't know who to trust or how to handle it. I've seen it first hand......big names that have "hangers-on" who get them to invest in this and that......meantime they are supporting 4 kids from 3 moms, 4 houses for themself and family, and all the expense that comes with fame and bling. A 5 year, $20 million contract 10 years ago could have that pro currently working 3 studio jobs today just to break even. There are some guys who mean well and are good hearted and just get burned because an idea sounds good......then there are greedy types involved in Madoff type things, who think they are being smart...but greed gets them. The bigger the money...the more the appetite to spend....the bigger nut needed to survive. Doan sounds like a good guy and all, but just look at his home and ranch.....those aren't $300 saddles he's cinching on his horses......... The whole Coyote thing sounds like Bettman favoring an NHL insider in order to keep one of his sunbelt teams alive. It will be a lot better for him and his owners to rape someone out of $250 million+ in an expansion fee than it is to admit the Coyote deal is much like the Golisano Sabres deal.......when you take the Glendale subsidies out......the NPV of that Phoenix team is el crappo. Quebec would buy that team in a second for ACTUAL cash. Jamison is playing chicken with Glendale. He says "I have the money, now just sign the arena agreement." Glendale says "show us the money and we will rework it". That's the thing......he looks like he doesn't have the cash....and he needs the arena deal money to even close the deal. What happens going forward when he can't cover costs of the team...or what if he manages the arena, and never buys the Coyotes? It sounds like this is a Bettman/Old Glendale wink-wink partnership that is being called out and possibly blown up. When you throw in the potential lockout into it....it's even goofier. I just can't see Doan being assured of the future of the team by Sep. 15th. Sure.....he could sign there, but it would be very stupid. -

This is still a cluster-f. The arena deal will not be settled by Sep. 15th.....and that means that Jamison, who has had to grovel to his competition in order to get money, is not going to know if he has a revenue stream of $125 million the next 5 years to manage the arena. If Doan signs there prior to Sep 15th....he is taking a huge chance. If he takes a big discount to stay, and has to move to Quebec once the league starts back, he is going to look and feel like a fool. Jamison has looked desperate to me the whole time. It's one thing to buy the asset, it's another to have the capital to run it. He's having trouble just meeting the asking price, let alone the reserve. Glendale city council will all get booted if they sign a new deal for the arena, and the sales tax gets shot down in a vote come November. They will have to find a way to come up with $300 million the next 20 years in a budget that is already overdrawn. Too much to lose for too many people to see the whole thing getting done in time. If Doan stays, it will be a leap of faith that he may regret big time. -
Not sure which way you are going with this one.......

Just remember this..... Last year, every home game you attended, $4 went to Villie Lieno for the honor and priviledge to watch him play that night. To watch Brad Boyes, you forked over $2.67 The incomparable Drew Stafford? $2.67 Derek Roy.....the same... Thomas Vanek and his scrunchie face? A relative bargain at $5 This year.....every time Tyler Myers hits the ice, the average ticket holder will be contributing $8 to his salary for that game. To some this may seem rational......to me......I can't justify it. Obviously I am in the minority because there are 15,000 season ticket holders. I am with the owners on this. In a rational world, I can't see how these numbers hold up over time. I am amazed this league is even hanging on, but I guess hockey fans are the most loyal of fan.

There will be an economic end game. There has to be. Tying it to a biblical one is what got me into trouble. No matter how many times I said I could see it happening.....people took it as it WILL happen. I attempted to clarify many times, but oh well. And of course there will be more to pick apart as wrong when someone goes deep into analysis....and if people dislike the messenger, no credit will be given for the many correct things projected while at the same time those who can't wait to pick apart the messenger have not gone out on a limb themselves and have no real value added to the conversation. People will point out that locusts aren't crawling out of the devil's ###### in order to mock, yet they convienently leave out the fact that the stock market is lower today than when I warned, precious metals are double and at one point tripled where they were, trillions in bailouts have been given, hundreds of banks folded, gas is at $4, and median household income is down over 10%. That was the main part of the warning...do what you can to protect yourself for a prolonged decrease in wealth and dire economy. And truthfully....you ain't seen nothing yet given that we have tapped out of stimulus measures. Really nowhere left to go but monetary inflation......and when you get a currency crisis...it can take hold and be over in a span of a few days. That's what I needed to get across to people. Wake up today...everything is "normal". Next week, hell. You are a student of history and should have some understanding. I'm happy they have maintained a sense of normalcy for this prolonged period. The longer they wait however, the more exponential the ramifications.
-
The thing is however.....I am truthful when I see a possibility. If I was in things to make money, or sell a book, or get clients.....sure....I could tapdance and put on a nice, logical, mainstream show with just enough edge to get people to go along. But I just speak the truth and how I feel. Many times there is a theory involved that people jump on I am stating as fact. As far as the economy? I sure as hell still believe we will see an end game that is violent beyond many peoples' imaginations and tolerance. Instead of getting worked up about it though, I just let well enough alone now and deal with it when it happens. Why should I worry myself? I just refuse to game a system that is unjust, even if I have the knowhow. It stinks that others get away doing so, but I'll let it get sorted out in the end.
-
It comes off as conspiracy theory until it is proven out in the open......sort of like Golisano and Larry Quinn only wanted to make money and if the team did well, so be it. Until he actually said it at the presser.....took a lot of crap. Back in '07, nothing was admitted and so much has happened since then, people are accepting of things as truth. The biggest mistake I made was projecting the collapse to an armageddon scenario. That was too much for most people to chew on and diluted my actual message of what was about to happen. It stinks that some people may have missed a chance to protect themselves because they were too busy making fun of a theory.....but I learned from it. I just get upset when I see people profiting at the expense of others while not being truthful.

Pretty much doesn't matter. In fact, Obama and his policies probably make for an easier transition to our "new normal". People are going to have to rely on the government for many more basics than in the past, and if rock bottom is hit over the next 4 years.....which it almost has to.....Obama has a better chance of keeping the country as calm as possible. That's why i don't get upset with him. For as much as I am a fiscal conservative and social libertarian......it's an ideal that maybe only 10% of the country can follow through with. People that know what is coming have been buying up goods and land....and have some strange idea that they can isolate themselves. In reality....after all the prosperity this country has seen....how can you turn back on the only reality we have known and revert to pretty much a hermit to amish lifestyle? If you are rural to begin with you have a much better chance, but I know myself well enough to say "F-it". I will help anyone I can, as I have never been one to miss a chaotic party. I was pretty vocal back in '07-'08, but so much has come to fruition you have to have absolute blinders on not to see where we are. It's like a crappy sports team burried under mediocrity. You can take the pain and blow it up yourself....or you can drag on for years with no returns and eventually it gets blown up for you and you start from scratch anyway while having just wasted all that time to do good. I've just enjoyed every day, try not to take anything too seriously, and pray for friends and family that have children to worry about.

I think this is well said. There have been no specifics about how we can get out of this mess....and really, other than calling a debt jubilee and not paying our creditors while gearing up for a world war....there is no way out. If the country really could be run like a business, the CEO would declare bankruptcy and start from scratch. As far as I'm concerned, there was a silent coup d'etat in this country October of '08 when in a one paragraph executive order, the Secretary of Treasury was given absolute power over all....the courts, the president....everything. That was the day America was lost. Bush was at the helm, the idiot congress went along with it, and the past 4 years have just been the government deciding who lives and who dies, while forcing the public to become more dependant on them in every way. It's pretty much the Titanic, with a few deckhands keeping the masses calm while the 1st classers scramble to the lifeboats with their belongings. They know the ship is going down...make no bones about it. As long as they can get out to sea before the rest of the ship figures it out and stages a mutiny, they are happy. Of course the Republicans can't give specifics of how to get out of this, because nobody wants to hear it. "Here's what we need to do......since we have 3% 30 year mortgages and the housing market is still in the crapper, and there is 2x the real estate that is on the market, currently being held by banks at inflated prices along with trillions in linked securities because they would all be insolvent if we forced them to mark to actual market like we did the past 80 years.......and we need to finance trillions in future debt because there isn't a big enough legitimate market for us to go to.......for your protection......all IRAs, 401ks, and pension funds will be put into US treasuries........if you are 65 or over, expect a 50% haircut on your social security payments going forward....40 to 65.....expect a 30% payout.....under 40, we are sorry to inform you that you will still be paying 14% into the system, but will not see a penny of it unless you opt into government healthcare with an average lag of 4 months for any appointment or procedure..............we are pegging the dollar to a basket of hard goods....which basically means if your bank is still up and running, every dollar you had saved is now worth 35 cents.........China and Russia are not too happy right now.....even though we have been quietly sending the East hundreds of billions a year to delay their backlash while our government and banking officials can make final preparations and asset grabs.........but since they have been buying up all of the natural resources and hard goods available the past decade to quietly divest themselves from our quagmire.....they are willing to not blow us to kingdom come..........thank you for your support.......Vote Romney/Ryan '12!"
-
Besides the voting for every single TARP, etc......then coming and telling me we need to cut back.....we'll call it crappy vision at best. Ryan talks at you a lot like Gore. When he speaks in public, it is like he is reading a bedtime story to a 5 year old girl. I hear that and see that, and I think "elitist d-bag". I don't know how he is in one on one, but for a supposed young lion savior, he has a major disconnect with me. He makes Romney look smooth and genuine. Rubio got up there and spoke from the heart and nothing seemed forced. I would tend to believe what he says before Ryan. Ryan may be a sharp guy, but I actually can see Biden coming across as more likable and smoother in a debate. Obama probably wins this, even with the economy being so crappy.
-
"Let Him Go!" Rubio is soooo much better than Ryan. Yikes......kid is genuine and has the grit.
