I'm really starting to question your reading comprehension skills......seriously. Excuses? I'm showing concern over Fitzpatrick's performance and the fact they don't have much time to figure out if they want him to keep focusing on his new delivery or let him go with what he knows. Anyone that has watched him in camp sees a tighter ball with more velocity.....but they are getting away from him and he is frustrated. I said the refs sucked and then gave multiple instances from both sides. The replacement refs need to be done with in a hurry. Did you watch the game? Were you at the game? You called out no running game....yet if you were there you could see there was an empty backfield called for 85% of the plays. I told you why...and given Fitzpatrick's mechanics....I'm assuming it was done with purpose on getting him reps. The only excuse I made was for the line....and it's pretty valid considering 1 of 5 starters was at their natural position.

Where is all the fantasticness lately???? Do you ever have like 3 or 4 fantastic things happen at once.....and you almost wish they were spaced out a little bit so you can savor the fantasticness of each of them on their own instead of being hit with a tsunami of fantasticness? Did you watch the game? Problem is, he isn't popgun. He is listening to the QB coach and now is delivering a faster ball that trajects higher on out routes. Yesterday were the first live bullets...and it didn't go well. He was visibly frustrated with himself.....but it goes beyond that. When you have a smart guy that plays off of feel.....sometimes the worst thing you can do is force him into a system. That being said, he has looked more accurate in camp and throws a stronger ball. He lasered a ball into a 1 foot window to Chandler on one play, then overthrew him when he was wide open 20 yards deep next. I am sure Gailey is having conversations today about it. Do you take the approach that he will be able to master new techniques by opening day? If he doesn't....you are taking a big gamble because he will have to go back to instincts and now his mechanics will be all screwed up. I'm not worried yet, as he had only 1 starting lineman yesterday in the correct spot. It was Glenn-Levitre-Urbik-Rinehardt-Hairston.......my guess is Hairston is the safer bet at LT at this point. Nelson is also an amazing security blanket. And to PhD...they didn't run because they had a back in the backfield on 3 plays, and it would have been a shotgun draw. Obviously they were trying to get Fitz reps. The refs were disgusting......not only was there the phantom touchback on the punt, but there was a screen to Spiller where Stevie whiffed on his block and just stuck an arm out to horse collar his guy.....Stevie got mauled in open field on a pass where 5 refs had to see it.....Glenn got away with a huge hold......I think it was Kyle Williams who was raped at the line one time......just horrible...and it was only 1 quarter.

I'm saying they are obviously closely related to someone in the organization in order to become privy to such information, so when the try to attack or dismiss someone who makes points against the team or members of the organization....take it for what it's worth. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Thanks for you and Chz confirming your conflicts of interest yet again these past 48 hours with "inside" information. I'm not doubting you, in fact I believe you. Which is why I am pointing it out yet again so when certain posters deflect legitimate criticism about the Sabres through ridicule and other means.....we all have a better understanding. On the rumors.....Carter was well known and accepted. Doan? That's F'n nuts. On both ends. If he has $60 million sitting on the table, you at least come to the city to see what it is all about. If he already has in secret and wants no part, then God bless. I also assume that is Pegula barking out the contract....and I can't blame him, knowing from day 1 he wanted him here badly. However.....Darcy has to be trembling. If Doan accepts and the Sabres don't thrive, Regier has no future. The cap would be strangled going forward and if he can't succeed handing out $100 million in salary....which is what they would be doing this year with Doan/Myers/Ehrhoff/Leino on top of the cap.......how can he do it in 4 years when 30% of the cap is empty space? This is where Pegula is dangerous. He has the resources to "cheat", but with the wrong person putting the team together, he can handcuff himself for a decade while never coming close to sniffing a Cup. That would be a tragedy, but if your numbers are to be believed.....we may well be on the path.
