So the Wings were smart to lock $30M into Debrincat, Copp, Compher, Chariot, Holl and Husso to not make the playoffs?

And Kane “knew something” because he picked the 41-win Wings over the 39-win Sabres?

    🤔

They jumped over the Sabres and got closer, really close, and they didn't sell off picks/prospects to do it. I'd say that was a small success. I don't watch them enough to know much more.

    Both teams were garbage

Sounds to me like he doesn’t believe in the players.  At least me and Meatballs can agree on that.  All this accountability nonsense, at some point the players have to have personal accountability.  They didn’t because that’s not who they are.  I don’t think a big meany coach is going to change that but here’s hoping.  Unless they actually more on from a few of these guys.

So what is the benefit of someing BUYING 25% share of the Bills?  I'm guessing if there is a sale of team anytime in the future, they are in best position to buy it?

Well if they buy 25% of the Bills on 2024 for $2 billion, and the Bills sell for $16 Billion in 2030 or whenever, looks like this rich person just got $2 billion dollars richer.  I know the numbers I used aren’t 100% accurate but I used easy numbers for maths sake.

Yes. He nailed it. Except for the teams being sold and what percentage was being sold. But it did contain the words "Pegula" and "sell" so close enough.

And there are people patting said “news breakers” on the back.  I really dislike what the world has become.

Skinner has 3 years left on his deal at $9MM cap hit per year, and $10MM in cash salary next year.  No one is taking that contract in trade without sending a similarly terrible one back to the Sabres.

A buyout is more likely, but still highly unlikely IMHO.

(As a related point:  am I reading the buyout breakdown that @LabattBlue linked to correctly -- i.e. that the Sabres would save 1/3 of the $22MM in cash they owe him?  I thought buyouts saved cap space but not cash.)

If the Sabres want to be a serious organization, they get rid of him one way or another.  T

VO and Jost are two I think are gone.

I would hope it isn’t even a consideration to bring them back. Although Jost would be nice AHL depth.  I’m guessing he takes another org that he thinks he has a better shot to stick in the NHL.

All that stuff he said about Pegula and how engaged he was and wanted to win etc.  etc.  which would be all BS if Pegula was planning to sell. Thought that was obvious.

Another example of why we shouldn’t ever listen to anything anyone is sports tells the media.  It’s a tool they use to manipulate information, the fanbase and the media. It’s garbage.
