The problem is coaching in the NHL is akin to witchcraft. No one is quite sure what needs to be said and taught but when it works, it’s a thing of beauty, when it doesn’t, you get Kruegered. So we could bring in the most savant of candidates but if the team doesn’t buy into what he’s selling, we are starting all over again. At least with Meatballs we have a known quantity albeit with perhaps a limited ceiling.

No playoffs in the AHL this season

Much of the league has been pillaged due to taxi squads, injuries and COVID. It looks like the Amerks have been hit worse than most but the AHL as a whole has been in tatters this season.

Yeah not a lot of options at this point. Why they didn’t pick up someone off waivers prior to the trade deadline is beyond me.
