I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for an NHL team to trade a top 5 pick. Outside of first overall picks being traded for a kings ransom (see Eric Lindros), do top 5 picks ever get traded? Especially after the draft order has been determined, so after the lottery. What’s that timeline? Two months? Id love for it to happen but NHL GMs are a cowardly bunch. The last thing they want is to give away a franchise player for a third line plugger at the deadline.

Amerks and Sabres both tonight at 7. Both played Monday afternoon at the same time and both play Friday at the same time. I realize they probably don’t give it one thought but should they? I’m guessing in their wildest dreams they couldn’t picture WNY hockey fans choosing the AHL over the NHL but I’m about to do exactly that. Hell, if the prospects were actually doing anything the last dozen games, this wouldn’t even be a contest.

I don’t think too many people are here to argue Girgs production. He’s been a good soldier, find him a team for a chance at the cup.

Might as well shut this thread down. No way this team even gets within sniffing distance. They have been in desperation mode for a month and still can’t figure out how to beat a goalie with 40+ shots.

I’d love to agree. Maybe next season that will be the case but NHL all-star and current $11 million dollar man resides atop the totem pole now. It can’t change fast enough.

Don’t care. Not one player in the league is worried even a little when those two are on the ice. I need Doughty, Weber or Pronger. Not two guys who don’t even shave.

I’m all for firing Granato, mostly because why not. But this is on the players. They don’t have players that play with courage and desire. They have guys who want to dangle and score goals from 30 feet. I’d gut the team at this point. Stick with Cozens, Peterka, Quinn and Benson. Trade, buy out, get rid of every other single player. I hate them all. Even Kulich and Rosen who apparently can’t take a couple flights and play for their country without it screwing up their lives.

The fact that Dahlin is now the face of the franchise makes me immeasurably sad.

So 4 of our 6 D are 6’ or less. Not exactly how you draw it up. NHL defenseman can overcome liabilities like size or skating with other tangible skills. I don’t see those either in this group with RyJo being the possible exception.

Yeah our resident himbo didn’t do himself any favors if he is the one leading the “revolt”. Been questioning our $11 million dollar man since before he “earned” that contract. He’s supremely gifted physically. It may end there. I’ve never seen a player as talented as him make the mistakes he makes.
