Passing, dump and chase, shots, penalties...it's amazing the PK unit is acceptable. This team is just horrid. Not exactly what I expected, at least the coaching aspect of it. What's up with Zadarov wasting time upstairs? WTF?

You're seeing what you want to see. If there were a bona fide D man there attempting to make a hit, Z had his head up and would have seen that. He had the time to assess the situation and make the move. Indeed, if we're seeing what we want to see, it looks almost like Z was amazed Hartnell did nothing to stop him and he took advantage of the opportunity. A real D man in Hartnell's position would have made it play out completely different. Are we saying Z has no situational awareness - that he didn't know he only had Hartnell there to help defend? I wouldn't say that at all.

Agreed. I think, like any player, Myers is on the table if the other GM feels like doing something "totally stupid", or however Murray phrased it. Maybe someone in Detroit mentioned Myers as someone they'd like to trade for, but it doesn't mean the package is something that could/would entice Murray.

Rob Ray suggested that Samson will not see all 9 right now. And I agree. Let him get a good taste of the NHL and send him back after 5. Bring him back up at the end of the season for the remaining 4 to see if he has made progress adjusting his game.

Right? WTF, and the STH whining is already at a fever pitch. Really, we're supposed to feel bad for STHs? ACME's widgets have been known for being low quality and low value for years now. ACME has announced the usual, annual changes to its widgets, which indicates that it's the same quality widget they're been producing and are known for being low quality. Yet, you buy one of these new widgets, knowing full well you're getting the same POS widget they've been producing (and there was no gun to your head), but now you feel entitled to complain about the low quality of the widget and how the widget has no value. :wallbash:

I know it's crazy talk and all, but maybe Z did something to fake out the defender and create the play. I could swear I have seen other players on other teams walk through defenders in the past. Perhaps it actually was skill and not freakish luck. Again, being a Buffalo fan, I know it's batsh!t crazy to think that way, when instead I should always find the negative, and never give credit for skill and game, but that's what I think.

This is one game, folks. You have to walk through the valley to come out the other side. Regardless of your position on the Sabres strategy to climb out of the basement, you're going to have to give it time. Recall that last year at this time it looked like a long, hopeless road with Regier at the helm and Rolston playing First Mate. Most folks had given up on Myers and we had no idea what this Z guy was all about. We were waiting for the first Miller WTF wave, and were questioning Pegula's sanity and intelligence. Soooooo much has happened since then and, for the keen observer, it's all good. I still believe that we really won't know until December what we have here with this team. Right now we're still trying to get a handle on the lay of the land after a terribly violent storm.

First off, I think Weber has a place on the bottom pair of a good team. The Sabres will not be serious about winning until they get rid of Foligno and Hodgson. I would like to see Benoit replaced by Zadarov.
