McCabe prevented a goal there by simply covering his man properly.

You'll probably see that. His latest story arc was compelling. And, at first I thought they were done with Tom, but my wife wanted him back. I was like: "mmmmm...". Now that he's back, I'm glad. I've grown to like his character. This season's writing and pacing is top notch (in terms of keeping it interesting), and makes it easy to suspend disbelief. "Fun" is definitely the word for this show.

That first line is a shut down line. The reason Gionta is there is because he's a vet, and all coaches lean on vets when they need to counter a line like the Sedin's line. I would rather Eichel be paired with Reinhart. The problem for Bylsma is that they're both rookies (effectively, in Samson's case). What we're seeing with these line combos is Bylsma's conservatism. I also think Bylsma might consider himself to be in a dilemma: all of his puzzle pieces aren't fitting together as smoothly as he had hoped. So, he's like an obsessed kid trying to make his Legos work for him. At least that's my interpretation of the constant line juggling. I think we might want to officially start figuring out who isn't fitting. My nominees are Gionta, Ennis, and Larson.

Where's GoDD?

Why not just leave Eichel out for the rest of the game?

WTH happened to Brad May? Looks like he was in a bar brawl.

You have to be of a certain age to get that reference.

Ennis sucks. Trade him.

This is 2015. Of course fiction is supposed to stand in place of fact.

"The totality of the credible evidence – the proof – does not sufficiently substantiate the complainant’s allegation that she was raped by Patrick Kane and this so-called 'case' is rife with reasonable doubt..." From the Buffalo News: "Significant material inconsistencies between what the alleged victim and those of other witnesses." "DNA tests conducted on samples taken as part of a forensic sexual assault examination at a hospital 'lend no corroboration whatsoever to the complainant’s claim of penetration, a required element of proof for a rape charge.'" "Physical evidence and forensic evidence 'tend to contradict the complainant’s claim that she was raped on Kane’s bed.'" "Sedita wrote: 'Although Kane has exercised his constitutional right to remain silent (which prohibits questioning by law enforcement), he has made no known incriminating statements to any civilian, nor has he engaged in any conduct consistent with a consciousness of guilt.'"

Reinhart: Fewer minutes in NHL or more minutes in AHL?
... replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
At the risk of causing the thread to be locked, I think Reinhart is improving game-to-game. All things being relative, of course; we shouldn't expect him to be Ryan O'Reilly Jr. anytime soon. I do think his vision and processing have just about caught up with the NHL game. He's also no longer an instant turn-over on the boards. -
I miisssss hoockkeyyyyyyyyeeeeee. Okay, I watched a non-Sabres game or two in between, but that's not real hockey. They are good hockey players, but Hot Dan's plan here is a little out of left field. McGinn is the guy crashing the net, leaving either Legwand or Samson as the setup guy. Well, Legwand probably shouldn't be the guy getting stuck in down low because he'll miss his defensive assignment if the puck leaves the zone. So, he needs to stick by the boards. Samson should be the guy looking for the spaces away from the play as that's one of his specialties. He'll take the rebound or the pass and attempt to finish the play. Where this is out of left field is that Samson came here tagged as the setup guy, no? And, frankly, I thought he looked good as Jack's setup guy. Certainly there is chemistry between the two. My guess is that Samson is being taught a lesson here, and not as a punitive thing, but Hot Dan is teaching Samson something. I find it curious because I can see Samson spending a lot of his career as Jack's wingman.

Nicely done, dudacek. Like the others, I was a bit put-off upon my initial read of the grades, but after another read-through I believe I understand what you are trying to do. The team is, after all, sitting somewhere in mid-20th place, so earning a B or higher SHOULD be difficult. I think the benchmarks are indeed O'Reilly and Gionta; and then where do the rest fit in-between? I think you're pretty much there for most of them, although I can't fault Eichel for not having assists, or for being very young. In his case, considering his circumstances and using your metric, I think I'd give him a C+ at least, but no higher than a B. I would probably give Kane a B- or C+, because he HAS had some really nice chances that he didn't finish and, being the older of he and Eichel, he should have compensated for Eichel's inexperience more by not being in Eichel's lane (even if Eichel was, in fact, the guy in the wrong lane). Lastly, I think Foligno's improvement from last season is so notable, I would have given him a B-. He is definitely becoming "the concept of Foligno" to me, at least.

You realize some songs prior to those on 1984 include keys? The Cradle Will Rock, for example, has a Rhodes all the way through it.

I find this offensive. If you peek in this thread, you stay in this thread. There's no un-peeking.

I've had hardware in my hip for 31 years. If it's corroding, that would explain a lot of things.

This has my vote. Love that interview. His character is ideal for a franchise goalie. Hope he gets to that level (for us).
