  1. Someone up there is smiling on Scott. Most players don't go out of the NHL being made a folk-hero.
  2. Well, here comes more free consulting for the Sabres. If I ever apply to them for a job, I should mention Sabrespace... No one will argue with, or "blame", the Sabres FO for marketing to the Southern Ontario market. The issue is how they do it. If they're going to market there use this as the mission statement: "we love hockey fans from Southern Ontario, and we love it when they come to our games. Our goal, every time they're here, is to turn them into Sabres fans if they're not one already..." Boom. Done. Every time they mention a house packed with fans of the enemy team, they say that the goal is to convert them into Sabres fans. They could have a lot of fun with a campaign like "come to the blue and gold side, it is your destiny..."
  3. FWIW, during the past couple of playoffs, certain teams blocked ticket sales to out of state credit cards. Why do you suppose they did that?
  4. PA has a very valid concern here, IMHO. This is a travel article initiated by the FO marketing department. It's pretty obvious to anyone who knows what that kind of fluff looks like. What's at issue here is the Sabres "selling out" the team and Sabres' fans in favor of selling as many tickets, hotel rooms, and donuts as possible. Its a lack of loyalty to the team and its fans and a winning, positive environment for the SABRES community. It seems business of the Harbour Centre experience has taken precedence over a 100% commitment to a winning culture. Hockey games are not Broadway shows where it doesn't matter where the audience comes from or who they favor in the show. While a place like Shea's benefits from filling their seats with these marketing tactics, the Sabres really should consider a different approach.
  5. No he's not. This is so common it's like regular bowel movements. You don't know how this sh:t works?
  6. I'm siding with 3putt on ROR. ROR does not play a heavy or physical game. His game is more tenacious and courageous in style, with higher than average hockey IQ and wits. Just because he's moving around everywhere and on players, doesn't make it physical like the label is typically used. E. Kane has a physical game. Foligno has a physical game. ROR does not bring anything like that. And that's okay, BTW.
  7. I'm sure there's a build-up of testosterone he is dealing with.
  8. He obviously gets off on pushing the envelope. His hockey IQ might be average, but he ain't no dummy. He knows what he's doing, and his lawyers are probably calling him every time he posts something like that. He's a social thrill-seeker.
  9. Going with the herd, here and voted for Franson. I've always defended Weber more than not and I like Gorges despite his penalties. Dunno if I'd want Weber on a contending team because, although I love his heart, he is prone to making stupid mistakes under pressure. But, Franson is slow and he scares me when he has to handle anything but basic D-man duties.
  10. I know what "DTF" means, it means "Down with Toxic Flatuence". Amiright? #hipwiththekids
  11. Lehner...Ryan Miller 2.0 in the emo department. Except that Lehner is metal emo, which is less endearing than plain old emo.
  12. But his glasses and soft-spoken demeanor...tres cool.
  13. Pull the goalie!
  14. That early challenge may bite us in the tushy when Ottawa pulls their goalie.
  15. Have we won a face off in this game?
  16. Lehner needs a few wins is all.
  17. THAT WAZ OFFSIDE! But, we can't challenge it now. Dumb.
  18. I think he's not nearly the intellectual his glasses make him seem to be.
  19. Gionta is to turn-overs as Taco Bell is to toilets.
  20. Now THAT was a good feed by Kane.
  21. There's something about paying your dues in the biz and being experienced. Which is stupid because I'm the next RJ and they don't know it.
  22. I won't spoil the moment for you.
  23. I thought Bogo could fight...?
  24. I thought McGinn would be out, hit by a puck or somethin'.
  25. Gionta turns it over in the high slot. That's rare.
