Again, a fun game. Perhaps the best thing about the game was I got to really watch Montour and I really like what he brings.

I can't help but agree it is "pretty close". It's obvious at this point who the passengers are and that we're not dealing with a coaching problem. As you said JBot needs to hit a few homers and swap out of many as the passengers/low-talent individuals as possible to put the teams on the other side of the non-playoff line.

They also mentioned the play a game or two ago where it was offsides and what the differences were. It made complete sense and the call followed last night followed that logic.

Montour has already identified the team's weakness. I like Montour, he's like a far less introverted Skinner.

You don't need to go back that far. It's a common tactic in OT across the NHL. We just happen to have goalies that are more competent at it, so you're likely to see the Sabres do it more frequently. He got points in the fans hearts. I thought that was curious. Phil was clearly doing some management there.

They do that all of the time. If you watched half of the 10-game streak you'd know that.

Dahlin was amazing. This doesn't change my opinion of Sheary, but that was a great shot by him.

Agreed. I would like to know how a coach can motivate a team that isn't self-motivated. Pom-poms? Whips? An epic speech pre-game and in-between each period? Promises of more video game time on the plane?

I came by this on FB, so don't have the file to edit, unfortunately. But it is brilliant.

On JT Miller, what would he look like without being on the TB roster? I think those numbers are barely enough, and would surely drop without the correct cast of characters playing with him, no? I mean, if Eichel were on TB's roster, his numbers would be (potentially, of course) amazing.

For example, they need to learn what a "legend" or "key" is.
