  1. Sucks about Stillman, but the Amerks can really use Clague. The Lightning saw fit to return two Dmen to Syracuse for their playoff run and the Sabres should have done that with Clague at least.
  2. It was nice of the Crunch to go into Alamo mode in the 3rd period. They simply stopped sending forecheckers and the Amerks enjoyed clean breakout after clean breakout; something they hadn’t been able to do pretty much the entire series to that point. And once the Amerks got rolling, Syracuse was unable to recapture the momentum, which is often impossible in sports. Any chance that Stillman and Clague might return next Friday?
  3. I don’t get any satisfaction from seeing disappointed Leafs fans because we can all relate, but it’s always nice to see Toronto’s arrogant media get its comeuppance. Never gets old.
  4. Is it asking too much for the Amerks to get some semblance of a clue in their own end?
  5. Never thought I’d miss Stillman and Clague from any lineup of hockey teams I root for, but yeah, they are definitely missed. The Amerks D corps has been an adventure in their own zone for most of the season and the Crunch has owned them in this series.
  6. After they were eliminated in the playoffs, the Lightning re-assigned two defensemen and a goaltender to Syracuse. Lilleberg and Crozier, the two Dmen have had an impact on the ice. So your point is well made.
  7. Yeah, Skinner doesn’t strike me as a Lindy type of player.
  8. They’ve been one goal games because of one player, Devon Levi. As you alluded to, their play in the D zone was horrendous last night, but it’s been the same way in all three games. Indeed, it’s been that way all season long. While I’m glad the Crunch aren’t seeing many grade A chances despite their dominance in the Amerks D zone, the bigger issue with that is the lack of puck control and offensive zone time as a result of being stuck in their D zone for long stretches. I just can’t agree that the Amerks outplayed the Crunch in any of the three games, despite the win in game 1.
  9. They’re just giving him an opportunity, nothing more. He may not survive OTAs.
  10. Are you saying the Amerks were better than the Crunch in games 1 and 2 or that the Amerks were simply better in games 1 and 2 than they were in game 3? Because from where I sit, the Crunch has been the dominant team in all three games.
  11. That’s a great question for Keith Gretzky.
  12. Well, that sucked. Can anyone give me a reason to think the Amerks will be any better offensively on Saturday when the Crunch have dominated in every game so far?
  13. LMAO at the Bruins. Gonna blow 3-1 leads in consecutive years from the looks of it. Methinks they’ll be grippin’ the twigs a wee bit tightly in game seven.
  14. Sure, any team can win in overtime. But the only player who deserves to tonight is Levi. That OT period was a tutorial on being dominated by the opponent. Unfortunately, that’s been the story of the entire series so far; the Crunch have out skated, out muscled, out hustled the Amerks in every game.
  15. Great. More torture watching them in the D zone. Can’t wait.
  16. It’s painful watching this team in their own zone, just brutal.
  17. Nice shot by Rosen. Great period by Levi. But the harsh reality is that the Crunch are the better team and the way the Amerks have played this series is just not sustainable.
  18. How many stupid penalties by the Amerks? That last one by Weissbach was as dumb as they come.
  19. To say we survived that period is an all time understatement. Once again, the Amerks were a lesson in how not to clear the D zone. Thank God for Devon Levi.
  20. Here’s a great article about Ray Davis. It is impossible not to root for the this man. His story is a great tonic to cure cynicism. https://247sports.com/college/kentucky/longformarticle/ray-davis-kentucky-wildcats-football-sec-215040295/#2226382
  21. If he has a camp and preseason like Benson, then he will most likely make the big club. Benson was just that much better than others in our bottom six last fall, that he couldn’t be ignored. He was remarkably consistent; from the first rookie scrimmage to the last preseason game, he showed the same high hockey IQ and tenacity on the ice. Benson was the better player than Savoie coming out of juniors, too. It would be a surprise to me if Savoie has the same success, but if he stays healthy, which he hasn’t been for either of his two camps so far, he certainly has a chance as the current talent level in the bottom six doesn’t set that high of a bar.
  22. Imo, he would have to have an eye popping camp to be considered for the big club. Lindy would most likely prefer to add a gritty vet or two as well, but that depends on his and KA’s ability to find and sign one. Anyway, I think it’s best to add Savoie to the prospect stew in the A and let them all cook together a while longer.
  23. How can the Bruins not be thinking of last year when, after going up 3-1 in their series vs. Florida, they returned to Boston with a chance to clinch the series in game 5 and lose in overtime? Tonight was a carbon copy. If they lose game 6 in Toronto, I think they’ll be too uptight to win a game seven. All the pressure is on the Bruins.
