  1. Let’s hope this becomes infectious. Habs looking like last night has caught up a bit.
  2. Fair enough. But I’m sticking with the NOT surprising Buffalo Sabres
  3. I’m not surprised in the least. We saw this group give high effort once Granato took over last March. We are winning due to that continued high effort.
  4. Easy to get behind this kind of effort. Nice.
  5. That’s the challenge. So we shall see.
  6. Thank you for including Hasek.
  7. Yes, every game. There are gonna be games like the second half of a back to back in a 3 game in 4 night stretch where they just won’t have their legs, but I won’t confuse fatigue with lack of effort. In recent seasons, particularly last season when they were out of it early and they just went thru the motions it was plain as day that several players just didn’t give a crap.
  8. Were you really expecting this team to look better with their top players from last year no longer here? Here’s one area I guarantee they will be better at: giving a crap and actually giving maximum effort for 60 minutes ona regular basis.
  9. It would be funny if he had to physically come in and pick up his paycheck.
  10. Eichel isn’t even in Buffalo. He is part of this team in name only. He’s the poster child for persona non grata.
  11. Yep and I’m grateful for this reminder. When we persist in talking past one another, it’s time to move on to another subject. My apologies to the board for contributing to the beating of this rotted corpse of a horse.
  12. And, again, you insist on implying that he provided a determination based upon what the team wanted not based on his own assessment of the injury. Are you of the opinion that he didn’t consult the images and other records? That he didn’t consult with the doctors charged with treating him? He just made a medical determination based on what his employer needed to hear?
  13. It’s like that old Joan Rivers joke about the gynecologist: “Dr. Goldfinger at your cervix.” 😂
  14. Fantastic info. Thanks for sharing this. It’s amazing what medical science can design and engineer.
  15. Too early to say relative to performance of the team on the ice, which is all that matters obviously, but he’s by far the best since Lindy when it comes to interviews.
  16. I’m not sure that advocacy for ADR in the lumbar region automatically equates to advocacy for cervical ADR. The former is far more common and approved by insurance companies. The latter carries more inherent risk apparently.
  17. I don’t think you mean to impugn his character, but all the same, you are saying that he arrived at a determination based on what the Sabres want and not what’s best for the treatment of the player. That also implies that even if Dr. Cappuccino would recommend ADR, that he would say otherwise, as if he’s precluded from his own independent findings. I just don’t buy that.
  18. Did he examine Eichel or not? If not, did he consult with the doctors that did? Did he evaluate the images? Did he offer his best medical advice (which happens to agree with medical best practices) based on those evaluations? This idea that he willingly chooses to forego what’s best in his opinion in favor of an alternative treatment just to rubber stamp the Sabres desire is unfounded imo. It’s a direct attack on his character and qualifications as the preeminent physician in his field. In his history as a called expert witness in court, has he had his character called into question? Is there precedence for this? And I’m not sure how his advice “protects” the team. How? What’s he protecting the team from? Approving a procedure that the majority of his peers are against as well? Is it a question of the Sabres forcing him to approve one procedure because the insurance company won’t approve the other? That just isn’t in his purview. I just don’t understand the idea that he is somehow being dishonest here.
  19. Bylsma was a better coach than many give him credit for, imo. And he was just the first coach that a certain core group decided to quit on.
  20. Shills gotta shill. It’s lazy and beyond dishonest though. It’s slimy.
  21. Because I don’t believe his availability as a paid expert witness hired by litigants in court has any relevance to his role as a doctor making a diagnosis of a patient’s injury and prescribing a course of treatment based on that diagnosis. Never mind that the vast majority of medical opinion supports the same course. Otherwise the suggestion is that he made his findings according to what the Sabres required and not what was best for his patient. I’m just not jaded enough to believe that. I honestly believe his oath as a doctor trumps all else when it comes to what’s best for Eichel. Great question regarding the CBA and why Eichel hasn’t filed a grievance. Curious indeed.
  22. I remember hearing something similar and thinking that’s exactly why I like Lazar so much. That he would wanna make a point of showing the Sabres they made a mistake after saying he liked being here is the kind of competitive fire I can appreciate.
  23. Per the bold, what drama? The one being manufactured by the media and impatient fans? Eichel is injured and on the LTIR. Other than Eichel’s status as an elite player, the nuts and bolts are not unlike the Girgenson injury last season. Players go on LTIR routinely. No drama required.
