Unfortunately, that’s a reality for much of isolated, small town America. Years ago, I had to give a lift to a contractor from the Olean area and he was literally afraid of black people as we drove down Fillmore Ave. in Buffalo. Every stop light was an adventure. The old axiom of fearing what we don’t know or understand was never on better display. Pitiful.

Did Eichel need to fly the coop to let Dahlin spread his wings

Eichel saw the exit of three HCs in his six seasons here. I’m not convinced he would have been happy under Granato, either. There are player’s coaches and there are coach’s players. -

That was great. Dahlin’s priorities on full display when he immediately leaves the goal celebration to take care of a much more pressing matter in defense of a teammate. Love it. -
We’ve knocked on the door twice without one, so yeah. Came close with a trio of them as well.

Per the bold and if what Gionta and others have said is true of their own dynamic with Eichel, then there was no Eichel/Okposo dynamic at all. -
Is Don Granato the best coach the Sabres have had since Lindy Ruff?

Good stuff. -

Interesting question. As a player, I think Dahlin would have made the same strides, regardless. As a leader, I think he and others on the team would have been stunted had Eichel remained. -

I don’t fault him at all for the choice he made. -

Not me. Not at all. After witnessing the crap goaltending we’ve seen all year, if a goalie can’t hack it in this league, screw em. -

LMAO! And I thought Tokarski sucked! So glad Mitts made a liar out of me tonight. I didn’t feel at all sorry for Jake McCabe, either. -

Shades of the game in Edmonton. Didn’t come to play. And I don’t wanna hear about back to backs and third game in four nights. Q Although we’ve seen Chicago blow a three goal lead recently. -

So glad Mitts made a couple nice plays in a game this year, otherwise I might think he’s incapable. He’s a fricken turnover machine most of the time. -

While I like the concept of Tuck with Crabs, I think it’s best to keep him with Tomsin. And it’s better for Cousins, too. -

I look for Cozens, Krebs, and Quinn to do some heavy recruiting. Levi has talked about how they are friends from the Canada U20 team last year.
-
More solid evidence of Levi’s value, why he should have been named Hockey East player of the year, and why he should receive the Hobey Baker as college hockey’s best player. Nobody is more responsible for his team’s success and imo, it’s not even close.
-
Yep. He seems to have that in common with Cozens as well.
-
It’s great to see, too. Seems like he’s starting to realize he’s better than most of the players he faces on a nightly basis and knows he belongs now. And he’s just scratching the surface. And he’s not even 22 years old yet!
-
Poor Risto. Absolutely ZERO hockey sense.

That’s not how I read your question.
