  1. I’m intrigued by this concept of “modern standards of cancellation.” Personally, I don’t think the “standards” have changed since we were painting on cave walls.
  2. Granato is evolving, imo. He’s gone from “not sacrificing how to win consistently for one win” (his own words, btw), which was his way of saying that the kids need to play in as many tight situations as possible in order to develop and learn to win consistently, to shortening his bench frequently in third periods and trusting certain players in tight situations late in games.
  3. I can’t recall any team in any sport that plays the way their coach played like the Canes do. Every player on that team plays like Brind’Amour did. Every one of them. It’s no wonder they’re such a pain in the ass to play against.
  4. Was listening to One Bills Live earlier and they had a guest on (I forget who) and he attributes the poor refereeing to the league’s All Star Ref system which takes the highest graded officials from the regular season to work the post season. He said the none of the refs working the KC/Cinci game had ever worked together before. He said it was ridiculous to have that happen in a conference championship game. But that system is collectively bargained with the ref union and they would have to agree to change it. I agree that it needs to be scrapped as well.
  5. His full no move clause kicked in last July. They’re stuck unless he agrees to leave.
  6. Everything he does on the ice, everything, screams “leader by example.”
  7. I jinxed him.
  8. Love watching him play. Except against us.
  9. Did you somehow take my post to be a criticism of Cozens?
  10. To be fair, Eichel has only played 38 games. That said, Thompson, Dahlin, Tuch, and Skinner are all over a point a game and Cozens is tied with Eichel at .89 a game.
  11. Each individual O lineman is graded out each week by the coaching staff. There is absolutely no question they were outplayed. But I would bet money that the grades issued by the staff with the full context of the play calls and the individual responsibilities of every player on offense, including RBs, TEs, and WRs, differs from that of anyone in the media, perhaps greatly.
  12. Looks like our language fills you with woe.
  13. He actually blocked a shot? Puck must have hit him by accident.
  14. I’ll take a 1-1 tie after that type of period. Boys are gonna have to fight thru some fatigue and dig deep to win the 4th in 6.
  15. I think not practicing during this compressed schedule, while great for the everyday players, wouldn’t serve guys like Asplund very well. What does he do to simulate game conditions if not practice?
  16. I wish Donnie hadn't gotten my hope up the other night when he said Dylan was good to go and could have returned to the game had there been more time left in it.
  17. It’s not like Eichel is in it alone and I suspect more than a few of his teammates aren’t happy with Cassidy’s public calling out, either. They may be sending a loud and clear message right back.
  18. Yep. He was touted as the missing piece, especially by the Vegas media. Seems like the honeymoon is ending though and I wonder if he is feeling that intense pressure of high expectations as a result. Cassidy didn’t do anything to help the situation by calling him out as Eichel has always been extremely moody and it’s easy to imagine him being an irritable prick like he was around here at times as a result.
  19. Plus 3 on that team is an accomplishment. I get the weariness by some to bringing back a player from that era of dysfunction, but he was always a high effort player and never a douche nozzle like others on those teams so, if he is agreeable and KA thinks he can help on the back end, I’d be all for it.
  20. I understand it is triple decker bunk beds and everybody has to wear footie pajamas.
  21. A few weeks ago, I kept hearing how in January we weren’t gonna be able to keep feasting on backup goalies, that teams were gonna bring us back to reality by making us face their best net minders. Well, looking at the list of goalies we have faced on this current streak that just doesn’t seem to hold water as they’ve beaten Sorokin, Oettinger, and now Hallebuyck; three of the top five ranked goalies in the league. Not too shabby.
  22. The anti-Tim Murray build.
  23. Donnie just said Dylan is ok, that Dylan was chomping at the bit to get back out there, and if there was more time left, Donnie would have put him back out there.
  24. Have we played a better period this season?
