  1. Isn't that 3 miles based on a 6' tall person looking at another 6' tall person? The fact that you are already well over 1000 feet and that cell towers are 500+ feet, I could see the farthest one being well over 40 miles away. At the escarpment in Lewiston (only 400ish feet), depending on the refraction of the light on the lake, you can easily see Toronto (about 35 miles). Go find out. It'll be fun. What else you got to do?
  2. I agree.
  3. This is just funny.
  4. "Mouse potatoes" was kinda clever.
  5. Um, so, you want government control of all information disseminated to the American public? Uh, that always seems to end well.
  6. On 6. Is there really a debate? You both agree the goal should not have counted as per the rules of the day. You are fine with them getting it wrong (for reasons) and Taro isn’t. It is a little curious to me, though, for someone who parses the rulebook as often as you do. ...and Lindy had to go.
  7. I don’t ever need to hear someone say, “That’s what I’m talkin’ about!” ever again,... when they actually weren’t.
  8. They must have some really good blow in Vegas, cuz this game is nuts.
  9. The ACs are on at 12:30 at night. It’s summer.
  10. So even now, while explaining why he got the call right, he is telling us that he got it wrong? Priceless.
  11. ...and you wanted me to lock this thread.
  12. I’ve heard that you love these type posts.
  13. Lucic didn’t get a penalty for almost the exact hit on Miller. Just sayin. And there was a resulting injury.
  14. I don’t think the resulting injury should ever play a part in punishment, ever. A penalty is a penalty because it’s a penalty, not because a guy might have a prior injury history.
  15. And if he didn’t already have a cracked peanut, we wouldn’t even be talking about this.
  16. Again, I didn’t think it was a charge.
  17. See edit. So, now we are asking players to consider the injury history of the player they are about to check, and dial in the force of those hits accordingly? Basing the punishment on the result is absolutely ridiculous.
  18. He played later in the series, no? EDIT: sorry, he didn’t return.
  19. I’m guessing this is your first summer on SabreSpace.
  20. Rome’s hit on Horton in the finals. Another BS call. If the jerseys were reversed, all the announcers would be pleasuring themselves while touting “big bad Bruin hockey...”
  21. Again, I’ll wait to see if he’s really hurt. Remember the Bruin that got carted of the ice leading to a suspension for the Vancouver player, only to play in the very next game?
  22. I just did a needle drop on two random games and found instances of a guy making a hit directly after skating the length of the ice on a back check. I didn’t really even have to try. You don’t like the hit. I do. You think he should be suspended. I don’t. I’m fine with that. What will be interesting is if it becomes a distraction for Montreal, in which case it will have been a good hockey play.
  23. https://www.nhl.com/tv Pick any game. 😂
  24. This is Bs. Guys get hit after skating the entire length Ice all the time. Skating the length of the ice is how a player backchecks. They do it every shift. He was backchecking. He was late to stop the goal. Then he hit him. It was the severity of the hit that is the is the issue here (and only because he got hurt), not the distance traveled, IMO.
  25. He stopped skating at the top of the circle. Charging was a bs call. If you are not allowed to hit that hard, which it looks like you are not, the call should have been roughing. They didn’t even get that right.
