As in Sabres trade player X and keep half the cap hit and then later with a different trade of player y the other team takes player x's retained cap hit? Haven't seen that. Would be too close to paying cash IMO. I also think that if player x gets traded and the new team trades him again, his contract could be split up again with the third team. But the first team would still be on the hook for the first trade cap hit/salary. Kinda like re-entry waivers.

They were doing drills. It was Enroth's turn to take some pucks. They pushed pretty hard today IMO. Nice of them to stick around and give some autographs after too. Must have been 2 or 300 people there. Absolutely packed.

Both are split at whatever percent (up to 50%) the teams agree to. $7 million cap $5 million salary at trade with 50% Would be 3.5 cap hit and 2.5 salary. Cap hit would stay the same but salary $ could change.

The schedule is totally different than the original. You'd have tickets for games that don't exist. Current mini pack holders do get first shot at tickets. Look for an e-mail from the club and make sure you're online when they open sales. The e-mail you get will also show the total credit you have on account. Any games you selected are gone. You'll need to pick all games "fresh" and use your credit to pay for them. Any unused credits will be refunded if you ask. Once you use up your credit the rest goes on your credit card. You'll need to buy at least 4 games to get the 10% off price.

Word from his hometown team is Hecht has signed a one year deal with the Sabres. Can't report until CBA is done Sat. 8am. We've got cap space. Nice to have a back up. IMO Doesn't hurt.

I think it's only an advantage if you have a good hockey team. One that made it into the playoffs and at least went a couple rounds. Promises only go so far.
