Went to the Indy 500 this weekend for the first time. Traveled with a group of guys who have been going for years so it was great to just be basically along for the ride. The whole town is a big block party until race day and everyone is really in to it. What a great experience. I'm exhausted but I can't say enough good things about the people, the venue, etc. Plus it was just incredible to be back in a big shared, communal environment again. The pandemic stole a lot from us these past 15 months. It's good to feel like things are getting back to normal.

That would be hella dumb.

This massive gaping head wound is my right as an American!

Last week I was definitely doing the "look around, see what the vibe is" thing, but then over the weekend while moving houses I ran entirely out of f*cks to give and stopped checking. A lot of people are still masked up and that's totally fine with me. But I'm comfortable not wearing one anymore and so that's how it's going to be. I'm always stunned by the guys who don't want to wear the PPE when dealing with hazardous stuff. Like, yeah it's uncomfortable, but it's better than killing yourself to make someone else rich.

LaNova sucks. If you want can't-miss I think you're looking at Bocce, Lovejoy, Picasso's, Imperial, and Macy's Place.

That's very strange. At first I thought maybe they were looking at some kind of site at the east end of that circuit, but the altitude is much too high. So they must have simply been on their way somewhere and decided to go into a holding pattern and then head back. Cancelled meeting of some kind perhaps? It's a private charter so nothing interesting in that sense.

It's insane that this needs to be incentivized though. Self-preservation is apparently not enough of a motivator.

It's not hyperbole at all. The Sabres are epically bad at drafting compared to literally every other team in the NHL. It's not even close. It's just the truth.

*looks at Buffalo draft history* not all...
-
It's wild that other teams simply draft good players

I am positive now, that when Adams and Karmanos talk about players "wanting to be here" they're talking about Taylor Hall, not Eichel. What an absolute crook.

The best pizza in Rochester, imo, is Brandani's across from Jay's Diner. Awesome spot for slices. Probably didn't go there enough. We ordered from Ken's Pizza Corner in West Henrietta a lot more because it was closer and they made GREAT suicide wings. And I know it's not the hip things to say, but I like Salvatore's. The Chicken Charlie is elite.

Tops' breakfast pizza is elite.

It is trying to keep you hungry though

Mister Pizza is good. I'm not sure I would call it Buffalo pizza, but I like it, especially the specialty pizzas.

Correct

Gudas gets away with some of his typical nonsense and this game is starting to get chippy

It seems to me that it's more about access to the vaccine and income. Most of the zip codes that have lower rates are poorer and underserved by things like pharmacies. They also might have less access to things like internet and computers necessary to book a lot of the earlier vaccine appointments. Now that you can just walk in to a lot of places and get one the rates should start catching up, but it seems pretty obvious to me what the key factor is.

I find this kind of stuff fascinating

Except that this isn't true at all?
