I think people read way too much into that press conference about his injury. It was a nice piece of theater on Jack's part to try to get the surgery he wants. I understand why he did it and I don't think it's as damaging to the business relationship as everyone else thinks it was. I'm sure Adams and co knew it was coming and weren't concerned one way or another.

That's generally how I see it. But I've seen enough of a sample size from the fan base at large to know that way too many people have turned on Jack very quickly. It's sad.

The vaccines are going to continue to protect the vaccinated, the problem will lie with the unvaccinated who will become much sicker much faster from the new variants. The question is going to be, how much f*cking around and finding out will the government allow before we end up doing another short shutdown (4-6 weeks?) to give people who haven't been vaxxed one last opportunity to do so? How many unvaxxed people reaping what they've sown is too many?

I'm inclined to agree. It would suck to lose him in FA for nothing, but I'd rather nail down the starting goalie situation. So in that case, let's get a real number 1 in that spot.

The Sabres are in a really tough spot here. Either they bring in a bonfide #1 and Ullmark says see ya later in FA, or you bring in someone more middling and risk having them end up being your #1 if Ullmark decides to walk away anyway. Ullmark being unsigned right now is a huge problem.

I really don't think this is as necessary as you think it is.
