Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
darksabre replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I will probably watch Ready Player One if it's ever on Netflix some day, but I think I'm going to have a hard time enjoying it given that the books have not aged well in the wake of Gamergate and the revelations that have come about regarding the misogyny and gatekeeping of the nerd/gamer community. There are too many intersections between the vile male gaming culture, the alt-right, Trumpism, etc., for me to get past. -
Booooo

Must win

The rest of the game. Other games. Really any time. They let Lucic and his teammates get away with it. That's all there is to it.
-
I can't allow this narrative. If the Sabres really wanted to send a message they could have. The refs can't stop everything.
-
I'm amazed Lucic brought it up. I didn't think it was a big deal to him.
-

Go start a no fun thread or something. You and ding there can jerk each other off.

Go away

Robin Lehner must be screaming internally over this goal support.
-
Naturally this is the game that I'm missing

Player evaluation for next season. Whether you like it or not the Amerks only exist because they answer to a parent club like the Sabres. I get that you don't like your team's players getting called up at bad times, but perhaps you'd like not having a team at all even less.

I think Marty would say no. At a certain age you just know it's not smart to be trying to get back in net, especially as a former pro. Marty would probably decline on the fact that he is almost guaranteed to hurt himself by trying to play like he used to. At least a younger beer leaguer is probably seeing regular ice time and knows what his current limits are. I would argue that tapping a younger guy might be even smarter. You want someone who is still flexible and can maybe over extend without being as likely to hurt himself.
-
 Right. They're definitely not going out to the bars together or playing video games or whatever.
-
You mean the Ullmark recall that had a point but that point went out the window when he was hurt?
-
That's pretty cynical.
-
Like he has a choice?
-
I think he'll be on the opening night roster. He's got things to learn, sure, but I don't think he's as raw as someone like Guhle was. I think he'll be able to adjust to the NHL speed quickly.
-
I think you're missing something here which is the spirit of the hockey. Did you see how much fun the players thought it was? Quenniville having a laugh. This kinda stuff is what keeps the NHL charming. Is it crazy? Maybe. But how can you not love it? Especially when the NHL keeps trying to find ways to make the games less fun.
-
That makes sense. Either way, I love it.

That's what's so funny about this. Think about pro sports and ask yourself: what other league would not only allow this but actively practice it? What other league would call some random dude in off the streets to play in a game? This would be like asking Dave from Orchard Park who played a little highschool football to come in and finish out a Bills game. It's absurd that having an in-house emergency goalie isn't a thing. No player designated. No equipment guy or the goalie coach. No one. Go find me a goalie down at the rink, now!
-
I wish I was as good at anything as these guys are at games you can play drunk.

Premier League Darts might be one of the weirder things I've ever watched on TV.

Same. His defensive game is going to need some work but I thought his awareness was good and he didn't look nearly as soft on the puck as I expected. He definitely has wheels and hands, and that is good news. He also didn't look like it was killing him to keep up. His speed and shiftiness was controlled and seemed more fluid than what we would see from speed guys like Ennis.
