I think trading ROR would be a huge mistake. Reinhart as well. Ristolainen seems like the guy I'd peg for trade bait. He eats a lot of minutes, but his development seems to have stopped. If Botts thinks he can fill out the forwards with real goal scorers then I could see Ristolainen on the move. Eating minutes is great, but this team needs players putting up points. Googles Risto's stats: he has 40 points this year??? When did he do that? Maybe he's not trade bait either.

Playoff wins aren't everything. They're about to jettison a franchise player for no reason. That team has nothing going for it. Their owner actively hates the fans. I wouldn't trade places with a Sens fan. Would you?

I feel bad for Sens fans. Their team is woefully mismanaged. Far worse than anything we've experienced over the last ten years.

It was easier to be a new guy back when the team was good. You could come in and sh*t post in the GDTs with everyone and build your post count and reputation easily. No one rolled out the welcome wagon for me back in '07, but the forum was so vibrant because of how good the team was that it didn't matter. I hung around because the GDTs were fun. Now... not so much.

I guess I don't see that as my responsibility? I've been here talking Sabres hockey for over ten years now. There are posts that interest me and posts that don't. More often than not these days it's the latter, which is mostly a product of the team itself. It's not that I don't read them or appreciate their being made. I'm just a little bored. Like I said, I bet half of my posts have never been responded to. I feel like that's just the nature of message boards. Just keep posting.

I mean, I see the word practice, which is a thing that the coaches run but the players actually do. Seems like a stretch to turn that in to some indictment of Housley by Botterill. Of course, I'm the guy who also thinks that problem players are problem players and coaching only goes so far, so my read is that he's not happy with certain players and intends to make changes accordingly. Pi's Housley axe is down to the handle at this point, so forgive me for trying to follow his attempts at squeezing water from a rock.

No offense, but this is kind of a weird complaint. Do all posts warrant a response? I have to think more than half of my posts have never received a response, especially in GDTs where we're all just firing comments at a wall as the game goes along. If you're expecting responses to all of your posts then you may need to adjust your expectations.

Decent hockey really will help. I joined this forum a long with a lot of other people back when the hockey was good, but we lost original members even back then. It's just the way things go. Everyone is catching up to my post count because even I don't have as much to say about hockey as I used to. :lol:

A lot of my expectations next year will be influenced by how the team changes around our center spine. The Jack-Casey-ROR are going to be the top 3 centers, and then I'm looking at wingers to see who is scoring goals there. Sam, Okposo, Rodrigues, ??? The defense, if Nelson returns, doesn't look too bad but still lacks depth. When Tennyson and Gorges are your depth, you're in trouble. But shuffling at forward is going to mean a lot. They simply need to score, and they need to do it as a team.

Other media people don't seem to have a problem acting like adults. You can't come in here and attack posters for their speculation and then offer nothing in return. Wawrow brings nothing to the table in the context of this forum unless he wants to start actually contributing his facts to the speculation on any number of topics. We're just going to keep on speculating. It's what we do. If that rubs John wrong, well, he's had ample opportunity to change hearts and minds. Instead he just wants to talk sh*t. So all he's going to get in return is the same. It's what he wants.

Listen guys, he just wants us to know that we don't know what we're talking about, but also that he can't tell us anything he knows either.
