  1. Sony Michel
  2. I will be running Sabrespace Blue League again this year, our more freewheeling, less serious fantasy hockey league. We had a pretty good competition last year, and I hope most of our teams will return! Here is the current Team/GM list. Please let me know if you will or will not be returning this year.
  3. Aye, let me start a new thread.
  4. The cheapest option is: Internet: $60/mo NHLtv: $150/yr VPN (I use PrivateInternetAccess): $40/yr So for about $76/mo I get the hockey I want and nothing I don't. If I want tv I'll sign up for YouTube TV and then just cancel it later. I don't need tv all the time and it's a way better option than fighting with the cable company if I want to add/subtract tv service.
  5. It's going to be tough. The closest I can get with PrivateInternetAccess is Toronto, which I guess would be the Buffalo market for football?
  6. It does. But as swamp said, he's not local. Sure, but you were addressing swamp directly. Everyone else should just get a VPN.
  7. Sure you do. NHLtv let's you pick home and away feeds.
  8. You don't need vpns if you're outside local broadcast areas. Just get NHLtv and stream.
  9. Watching teams from a different city is easy. They're okay with you doing that. It's watching your team *in* your own city that they make into a huge pain in the ass.
  10. It's definitely the right move. Just sucks to see the only good player this team has had recently cast off so unceremoniously.
  11. Damn son
  12. None of them unless you have a cable subscription.
  13. It was incredibly quiet. Except for the mooing cows. There was no ambient light anywhere nearby so you could see the Milky Way clear as if you were in it. We didn't have to interact with any people unless we went into West Yellowstone for food. Now that's a vacation.
  14. Reading this post, thinking bout the cabin we had on a lake on a cattle ranch in Idaho last year...
  15. I would rather go to sea in a kayak than on a cruise ship.
  16. Ah, I see. So basically they are voting on whether to kick the can down the road a few more years? I was under the impression there was a bunch of stuff both sides wanted to work out in a new CBA. Why would they take the option?
  17. I'm still trying to understand the language around this. What does it mean to "re-open" the CBA? If both parties choose not to re-open the CBA, what happens? If the NHLPA elects to re-open the CBA now that the NHL has declined, what happens?
  18. This is a narrative that needs to die because it's not true.
  19. Like they did with Chris Hogan?
  20. Taylor Swift is an artist with which I have tried, time and again, to find a foothold. The new album may be her best one so far, though it's still not quite good enough for me. It feels like her popularity is preventing her from realizing her full potential. She has the platform to be bold and daring, and chooses not to do so. She's still too safe. Part of me feels/hopes that we'll get the real Taylor Swift over the next decade as she moves through her 30s. With any luck there's a Gillian Welch in there dying to get out. I've pushed The Regrettes here before and they have a new album out right now too and it's better than anything Taylor Swift has done to date. Lydia Knight is on her way to a much more meaningful music career, in my opinion of course. Also, @That Aud Smell, you should give Metric a listen. They're very good.
  21. I'm firmly in the maybe camp. Thompson's biggest problem last year was that he was big, but not particularly strong on his skates. 205lbs at 6'-6" is...light. I don't know what kind of gains are possible in one off-season, but he needs to add like 25lbs.
  22. I noticed that during the radio broadcast for the first preseason game. Wood is a natural for the color job.
  23. So is that the NHL basically deferring to the players on whether or not the CBA needs to be re-negotiated?
  24. Maybe the best sweetlou post of all time
  25. And remember, the party of fiscal responsibility is okay with it.
