Re:

I think it lends credence to the "Risto is burned out" theory.
-
-
I would think Bogo himself would dispute that if it wasn't true, no? The team doctors can't just fabricate a lengthy rehab stint.
-
How's that work if Bogo doesn't have a reason to be on LTIR?
-
Absolutely. Mantha is under contract this year and isn't going to command nearly what Laine will. We have to pay Dahlin in a few years. We probably need to pay Sam and Casey if they stick around. And if some of these other players work out we'll need to pay them too. I just don't see how Laine fits here contract wise. I don't want Kyle Okposo Redux.
-
Thinking about that more, how do the Sabres even afford Laine?
-
I think Laine's contract status suppresses his trade value. It would be one thing if he was signed and we knew what he was going to cost. Winnipeg isn't going to get as much as they'd like to for him given that he's not even under contract to play this season yet. So I think "unrealistic" trade proposals for Laine get a little leeway because of the uncertainty involved in this scenario. Any Laine trade discussion really needs to include his expected contract. Who here wants Laine at 8 x $10mil right now?

This game sucks ass

I just want everyone to know that I start a week long vacation at 5:00 tomorrow, so be ready for trades.
-
He's totally getting traded to the Pats and winning a super bowl and we're never going to hear the end of the Patriot Way.
-
It's incredibly sad. Like, if I were a player and someone let me comment in that article, I'd be embarrassed.
-
I like IB but that rumor seems pretty... mundane lol
-
He didn't get fired, they're just moving him to the number 2 squad.
-
And you have to assume that not all of them want to hold out like Marner.
-
They're going to end up doing something crazy like trading him to the Pats.

This is essentially how I would use Allen. Just accept that he's a boom or bust QB and let him throw downfield a lot. Either you win games by 21 or lose games by 21. The defense is going to be on the field a lot no matter what.

Here's the thing. I post Teddy in jest, but I think people misrepresent his coaching style as overly simplistic when the truth is something a little more genuine: Ted understood that a lot of what makes teams successful is individual players doing their part. Ted has always been described as a "players' coach" and typically what that means is that a coach understands and connects with his players on a personal level. There are plenty of alumni who played for Ted who still speak of him with affection because Ted's greatest skill wasn't that he asked guys to go through walls for him, it's that they did it willingly and of their own volition. Ted isn't a coach who will take you the distance. We know that. But if Ted's coaching style was a gear in a transmission, it would be first gear: the one that gets things moving. We should be lucky if Krueger is a better version of Ted.

I have renewed Blue and our draft is set for Monday, September 30th, at 8:30pm EDT.

The Cream Screamers look forward to defending their title!

Obvious problems aside, bold to imply that the Leafs aren't a soap opera.

I'll pencil you in for Blue League. It's a time suck and you have to check your lineups every day. But at least yahoo let's you auto-set lineups for the week, so you don't have to be hyper vigilant unless someone gets hurt.
