You obviously didn't hear Schopp and Cappacio try to one up each other as they went season by season through the drought, claiming to remember the most obscure details. I did. I was sick in bed and too weak to reach down and turn off the radio. Through a Norovirus-induced haze I was tortured for what seemed like hours. What a crummy way for a good regular season to end. I'm not saying the approach of sitting starters was wrong.

Welp, I saw enough posts about Norris Trophies, MVPs, HOFs and Greatest Sabre of All Time to know I didn't erect the strawman (with that woman, Miss Lewinsky).

He got the 89 goals in two seasons after being drafted. I don't recall a lot of chatter that he was going to be the greatest goal scorer in Sabres history. But that was before a time when everyone saw everything as amaaaaaaazzzzziiiiing.

Assess and dream are two very different things. The reality people missed is that highlight videos from lower leagues don't (or rarely) translate to the top league. Do you know how many goals Vaclav Varada scored in the WHL?

Not bragging. I'd just like to see the reaction if Reality were presented to some of you at the time of the draft. You do remember the string of dipsy-dangle videos out of the Swedish League, right? Were you posting most of them? How many of those moves have you seen in the NHL? The last three sentences are an attempted compliment. People do respect your opinion, as do I. But stop trying to make Dahlin into something he isn't yet. I'm not being negative, I'm just calling it like I see it. Dahlin has shown signs of being a top-notch contributor to the offensive side, despite almost no scoring touch, and defensively he's JAG. He's a very good prospect. I don't feel the need to scream Norris! every time he makes a play behind his own net and passes the puck to a teammate. You're the one trying wayyyy too hard to be proven right.
