  1. Wow, the Marty Machine even got to Smell's username! The robots are unstoppable.
  2. I'm getting my hair plugs removed.
  3. Is dat what you kids are calling it these days?
  4. Warren is smart. Terry thinks he knows how to make a better Blizzard. It has butterscotch chips, those terrible malted chocolate balls and 8-pound roofing nails.
  5. It really dresses up the Covid thread.
  6. Almost didn't make it? https://www.wgrz.com/article/news/local/bills-brass-thought-terry-pegulas-private-plane-was-going-to-crash-over-rocky-mountains/71-575431971
  7. I am not pleased. I will not use dem words. Sonofabitch.
  8. Rick had gravitas. The voice, the silver hair. Whether it was near-exclusivity in the market or genuine, honest craftsmanship, he came to be an authority. His reporting was to be believed, and the rare editorial was powerful, coming from him. Same with Van and, later, Ed. There not only aren't sports anchors like them anymore, there isn't even an opportunity to do so. I couldn't tell you who the anchors are now. We don't think we need them anymore. But we needed Rick and were lucky to have him.
  9. At 70, so is Terry.
  10. I can only imagine the Pittsburgh Penguins were FURIOUS! the game was played. (Am I doing it right?)
  11. A little bread and circus from our Sabre Overlords.
  12. RaKru. I'm good.
  13. Or that the obvious solution is to practice staying onside and/or yell when they don't. Staal could pass. Also any Sabre fan who looked 30 before this season.
  14. After someone tells him which one's Perreault.
  15. Rick's always been accused of being a homer, and when it comes to going over the top when the Sabres do something good, guilty as charged. But he's never done two things: disrespect an opponent's goal by not calling it and treat us like idiots by trying to pull the wool over our eyes when it comes to the Sabres. These are the true markers of a homer announcer. Mine was the V2 Bomber.
  16. I find is so odd that no one will mention the speaker by name.
  17. No, but he and his attorney should be. I hope he doesn't just lie down and take his medicine. It's interesting to note that in the first version of PSE's statement, Genzler was identified as "on-air" talent. It was later changed to "in-arena." Do the Pegulas even know who he is? Also, read the statement. It's so ambiguous as to who is being fired that I have to wonder if Terry and Kim, like some posters in this thread, have no idea what Genzler really said. It's the co-host who is being condemned.
  18. "Involved with" is an appropriately murky way of putting it.
  19. Who's Pangloss how? That would be extremely hard to pull off. (The dismissive "K" actually spoke volumes.) What should the penalty be for not doing so?
  20. Sadly, I have to take this thread out back of the barn.
  21. Of course, Rich didn't get fired from the station. He's suspended. He did get fired from PSE, but not for making a racial joke on the radio.
  22. Do you guys still not get that it wasn't Rich who was speaking? Rich said one word, actually barely a word: K or OK. He didn't laugh. He knew it was wrong. What was he supposed to do? The producer could have killed the mic but didn't. Terry said something truly racist (using today's standard) not long after buying the Sabres. Maybe he should be canceled.
  23. I tuned in in time to see Eric Staal reaching for his Life Alert behind the play and Crosby flopping a bouncing puck into the Sabres' net. You can't make this up. We're into Exquisite territory here. It's damn near glorious. We will probably never see the likes of this again. It's approaching Epic. They say if you're going to be bad, be bad. The Sabres are doing this so right, so wonderfully.
