  1. Is that shocking? Could you? And what does it prove?
  2. A lot of generational hogwash here, repeated down through the millennia probably. I work with high school and college kids who quite literally have kept a personal care home going through the pandemic. They are hardworking, smart and kind. Of course they are different. They can't rewire the rec room. But I can't order takeout on Snapchat. Figure it out, fogies!
  3. Esther tried that with me when Amos and Andy came out on the Radio set. I took care of it. Those were the days.
  4. You know damned well I worked in a hog butchery for 37 years. Not funny.
  5. I only skimmed Thorny (oddly, he didn't complain), but I think I agree with the gist of his point, IIUIC. Everyone has to have a definitive hot take, and mercy on your soul here if it's not in line with Group Think. There are opposing truths. I think it would be hard to explain this deal to a non sports fan. They'd rightly ask: why would the Sabres do this? Then ... Why would Cozens do it?
  6. The two worst words in the lexicon of hockey: games in hand.
  7. He saw my Sabres sweater and put his baton right into my gut after Boston's Saint Patty's Day parade. "A little present from Brad Pahk." Look at him now.
  8. Designated Survivor.
  9. Factually inaccurate. The Sabres only wanted people to believe that the CBA required them to increase ticket prices in order to get revenue sharing. The reality is much more nuanced.
  10. That's a terrible paraphrase. Delta Bravo.
  11. Woody changed his handle? I am so lost.
  12. Adds nothing to the discussion. The owner of the board put his stamp of disapproval on it. That's powerful.
  13. Some on this board are not covering themselves in glory today. It's the usual crowd. The personal attacks are dismaying.
  14. Can opinions/analysis that one disagrees with not be labeled awful and not bring out pitchforks? Maybe it should not have been written in this thread. I personally do not agree that Kim's absence or Terry's distraction have meant anything in the standings. It represents a misunderstanding of what Kim did, for one. Also the timing isn't right. If the poster's notion is correct, we might see some future improvement. It wouldn't have shown up this soon. I mean, unless the thought is that Terry draws up the PP schemes and calls line changes down to the bench, and even I've never gone that far. But yeah way to go Cancel Culture.
  15. Not sure what quake it was, maybe 99, but my cat was freaking out several minutes before the event.
  16. Dahlin's question should have been, "Who are you?" Thought provoking at least.
  17. If you were smart, you would shave your mustache and try to get over the border into Nova Scotia. I know someone who can help once you get there. Can you operate a tugboat? How is your western Scottish accent?
  18. Still three on three?
  19. It's sloppy writing and is prejudicial. I will never agree one can allegedly do anything. Adverbs modify verbs. How does one point a gun? You can point straight, calmly or wildly. One cannot point it allegedly. I'll die on this hill lol.
  20. If the Sabres' return to the playoffs is predicated on large and enthusiastic crowds at home, we are screwed.
  21. Who is we? When these stories make the news, do we have instant recall of the accused's background? No. We are conditioned to believe that charges against people are true. And even moreso when it's a young black male. Look at the headline. It's atrocious journalism. "Bengals’ Joe Mixon charged for allegedly pointing gun at woman" How about: "Police allege Mixon pointed gun at woman, file charges"? One is not charged for. And you don't make the claim someone did something and add "allegedly" to make it look fair. You can't allegedly point a gun.
  22. No presumption of innocence?
  23. The culture of losing.
  24. Went with DG. Woulda voted for Chefsah Pasta Saucah.
