Agreed. And doubt anybody is trading for him, so he's stuck in the press box until there's a couple of D-men injuries (all the D that started the year on IR are back) or the Krackers really want to look at a D-man on the farm. IF Dahlin really is their top D-man (very debatable at present), he's not just top 4, he's top pairing.

Catching a day (typically opening day) of training camp. But Krueger only wanted fans at the "public" sessions. So that tradition that went back to the mid-80's was trashed. Maybe will start it back up next year.

Which was a silly question to ask on camera because he knows and Duff (or was it Biron?, the last 3 weeks are a blur) also knows that he CAN'T answer that Q.

Realize the bolded is the narrative, but not sure it's actually accurate. Regier definitely didn't ignore them but like for the previous ownership groups under whom he toiled, found out what they wanted accomplished & then set out to do that w/ varying degrees of success. Murray definitely appeared to ignore them, but never seemed to jump to their beckon call. Botterill did jump on the O'Reilly deadline but didn't seem to overly fellate them & not sure that refusing to purge the front office is equivalent to ignoring them. Adams appears to have a good working relationship with them. (Which was likely your actual point. 😉) Whether that is good or bad for us will come down to how well he rebuilds now that there isn't really anything else to tear down.

Well, until Anderson is healthy, provided Tokarski gets the start, that looks better than Toker/UPL or Toker/Houser. -

That seems a logical take. Wonder which F will be deemed more expendable than Butcher for tonight's effort. -
Expecting that Adams won't put out feelers on him as expect he'll still consider the youth on this team to still be too "impressionable" for lack of a better term to have a guy with a reputation for not treating people properly (deservedly or not) showing them the ropes.

Yeah, the bloom was off that rose by the time the team plane touched down at LAX. -
Not exactly "news" but more accurately "opinion." And have big doubts about that opinion playing out accurately. Had Regier not promised suffering while giving us Rolston w/out even looking at better options, he very well might have survived the tank. Adams seems to be taking that rebuild approach w/out saying painfully stupid things nor installing a coach who is absolutely out of his element (though saying he's not bringing in quality vets so as to not "block" the kids isn't exactly Mensa level & Granato could very well see his season go much like his much hated predecessor's 1st year went especially if they can't get away from the injury bug) so if they've bought in on the 3-ish year rebuild, they can't really go and change directions 5 months into said 3 year rebuild without looking very bad.

Have to figure after 4 L's in a row something will get changed up. Wolanin getting his 1st action makes sense. Dell getting his 1st NHL action this year facing one of the greatest goal scorers of all time does not. -
Dwayne Johnson may now own the league & is likely the CEO setting the direction, but in most businesses, the President actually runs it. And their new president is a shameless self promoter who only cares about the sizzle.
-
Talk about a match made in heaven. League known for shameless self-promotion w/ little actual steak to go w/ the sizzle will be run by a shameless self-promoter who only cares about the sizzle.

Mike Weber got the Sabres Jack Eichel which got them Tuch, Krebs, & picks. And you say he didn't get us anywhere. Sheesh. -
If Eakin doesn't shake off the rust quickly would like to see that Girgensons - Thompson - Okposo line sooner than later. Hopefully he shakes off the cobwebs because that doesn't leave much for Asplund to work with. Maybe Ruotsalainen bumps up a line & Eakin goes down to his slot. They really need Mittelstadt back.

There was talk here about Mittelstadt possibly coming back soon. But the initial word out was 6-8 weeks. Haven't heard anything about his recovery since they left for the WC road trip. -

Both Mittelstadt's and Jokiharju's injuries were being talked about as 6-8 week injuries when they occurred. The Sabres won't be putting anyone, but possibly Boychuk's ghost, on BF-LTIR because it doesn't gain them anything. They're miles from reaching the salary cap & should a guy have a miraculously quick recovery they'd have to hold him out until he's missed the games threshold or been out at least 30 days. -
It'd be a hard no towards trading for him. Not sure that bringing him in as a FA is that great an idea either, but at least the timing of that should be coinciding w/ when they might actually be good enough to be in the playoff discussion. It still seems that move would be analogous to bringing in Terrell Owens which was an all marketing & 0 football move.

Agree. But, to play devil's advocate, pretty sure neither of those guys were playing w/ 2 other 19 yo top 10 draft selections nor an additional 7 (?) NHL 1st rounders. When every line has a stud, it becomes a bit easier to rack up assists.
-
Really doubt any of the young guys end up traded at/before this trade deadline. And, would prefer Bryson to a 2nd rounder. The entirety of this team can't be waiting to get drafted IMHO.
-
If they HAD to pitch a stinker in this 3 game "gimme" stretch, am glad it was against the Jags rather than in division. The J-E-S-T game is now must win. Have to believe they'll wake up but missing Brown again would be very bad.

Good on him for wanting to get that play right and actually making an effort to do so. Also, liked seeing him work a modified clock drill. That is a great drill to work on the footwork required to defend against rushes.

IF he makes it, will be referring to him as Milo.
