Somebody needs to point out to the NFL's lawyers that they CAN be ADA compliant even without hiring blind refs.

Do the Sabres actually need more RHD or does it not matter?
Taro T replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Don't know. And it was a few years back, but back in October of '14 the Aisles got Leddy & Boychuk for a 2nd rounder each. So, the D necessary to fix this up don't necessarily have to be expensive. Especially w/ the cap space the team will have & Pegula bucks, they could get the 2 guys (& the goalie they'll need too) without "mortgaging the future." -
Absolutely. Want to try to catch some North Eastern games because the highlights make him seem like a smaller Carey Price. Would be really nice to get back to having a real goaltender. Prior to Miller getting traded to St. Louis we never went more than a year or 2 with only adequate goaltending and we never had inadequate goaltending for even an entire season. Was not happy w/ the trade. Have come around on it, though definitely would've preferred getting Levi for something other than Reinhart. (Yes, that ship has sailed, but it's still visible over the horizon, so ...)

They already have Knight who is 1 draft year older who's already in the NHL and playing well and they have Bobrovsky who is very expensive and not movable at all for 2 more years should they even think about moving him as he's playing well, too. If they still had his rights, they definitely wouldn't be signing him after this NCAA season, & likely wouldn't the next year either. They have no room for him in the NHL. So then they watch him walk the following year. Having 3 years worth of Reinhart for only an additional late 1st seems to be very worth it from their view. (Even though they were only guaranteed 1 year of Reinhart.) Florida was in the enviable position that SJ used to find itself in back in the late '90's & early '00's: too many quality GT prospects to be able to keep them all. There's only room for 2 guys on the big club & Florida is set for at minimum 2 years and very likely 3 or 4. As for the draft, not being in one of the 3 Major Junior leagues & being smaller than a prototypical goalie was definitely held against him.

Yep. One of those moves that should make both teams better.
-
Robson getting the start again? Or Houser or Dell? Would like to see Robson again.
-
Makes sense. Subban might not be an NHLer. Dell definitely isn't one. Wonder if Houser is the one going back to Cincy. The other kid (Robson?) looked real good last week.

From the view today, yeah, it's kind of wild. But without hindsight, not surprising at all. He was drafted well before the WJC that he was the best goalie at. He also was not expected to be the starter of that Team Canada much less to be as studly as he's been. He was firmly 3rd on the depth chart (if even that high) heading into camp. Without Luongo's input, he very well might have gone undrafted. The Panthers have Bobrovsky on a ridiculous (bad) contract for 4 more years & also have Knight. They're happy w/ what they have & managed to get an affordable top 6 winger for a very late 1st & a guy they don't have room for who only cost them a 7th originally.

UPL's between the pipes tonight.

You honestly don't think Brandon failed at his job as Bills President? He is the guy that sold the Pegulas on Rex Ryan. He's the jack-hole that brought us the Toronto games. Adams already is effectively the Team President. Don't see ANY way (barring something totally unexpected like a morals clause related issue) that Adams gets punted THIS off-season & really expect him here at least through next season & he's likely a part of this organization for the long haul.
-
No history of moving people around in the organization? Huh? Brandon moved from Bills President to President over all the teams. Adams himself moved up from the Hockey Acadamy to running Harbor Center to Running the Sabres (not including earlier moves). He moves people all over.

Hard to say from the microview of the play. But have definitely seen players, especially those wearing a spoked B, get away w/ much worse. #### those guys!

Do the Sabres actually need more RHD or does it not matter?

Was also some of his best hockey. Those 1st 4 w/ Butcher he looked like a new man. The last 4, not so much. Besides, he was still primarily on the left side even then. And, even when he was w/ Psysk, he would shift over a fair amount (though he was primarily on his strong side). -

If they keep the predominance of LHD, remember that until he entered the NHL Dahlin spent a ton of time on the right side. -
The rosters are 6F, 3D, & 2G. It's 3v3, not 4v4.

Have said before that it really seems that all 13 or 14 F's next year are already in the system. Okposo tends to really work well with both Cozens & Girgensons, so there's the defensively responsible line that can still create chances & score. Let's call tha the Drury line. The line w/ Thompson centering Asplund & Olofsson was working very well prior to Victor's injury. Let's call that the Roy line. Would really like to see Mittelstadt & Tuch together; expect Skinner would start the year there but bounce his way down a few lines by the end of October. Not a true Briere line, but close enough for government work. Which leaves some combination of Peterka, Krebs, Quinn, R2 Rou2, Murray, or a surprise camp standout like Pekar or Weisbach, or other potential surprise filling out the 4th line. Bjork either becomes Amerks captain or is designated 13th F. The D is where outside help comes from plus UPL's battery mate. No reason to believe it'll happen based on results to date, but do expect that Adams finds this team's Leddy & still useful Boychuk (not the ACTUAL Boychuk like he grabbed this year) this off-season as he actually proactively uses that capspace and grabs a couple of really good 2nd pairing guys to help Dahlin, Power, & crew figure it out. (Letang could actually fit that bill at this stage of his career.)

Well, to get Botterill back onto the "short" list, would make sense the list is actually pretty long. 😉

Curling & Bobsled. All the various skiing events, too. Biathalon is an awesome concept. Yeah, the Winter Olympics are IMHO more fun than the Summer Games.
-
Yep. And guess that would officially make this year 1 of the new direction. (But they REALLY need to show improvement next year.)

The Goal Call should not have been reversed per NHL
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Apologies. It appears they changed the title of the rule when they came out of THE lockout. -
@nfreeman & @SwampD, for whatever it's worth, the refs WERE bad in the JAGs game. That was the one where pretty much no amount of presnap movement was worthy of a false start flag on the home team. There were other bad calls but those were the most egregious. That said, the Bills O-line was far more responsible for that result than the Zebras were.
