  1. Huh??? If you aren't joking, they're using advances from the same technology that Fox developed to create the glowing pucks in their '90's NHL broadcasts which was then adapted to put down & distance lines/guides on football broadcasts.
  2. 1st game both teams had a hard time staying on their skates & all passes regardless of circumstances were seemingly all high danger. Last 2 games were against 2 of the best 4 offenses (IMHO) in the NHL. And tomorrow's game with be against another really good team that pummeled Granato's Sabres last year on at least one occassion. If they still are giving up crazy scoring chances in games 5-9, THEN will agree they have a problem. But having 4 points right now outweighs the gaffes in game 1 & the being outplayed in games 2&3 by teams that, on paper, should be outplaying them.
  3. And except for the Alphose & Gaston routine right before giving a gimme goal to Montador, he played great. Put that more on Jokiharju than him. And 1 bad goal out of 37 shots isn't exactly worthy of breaking out pitchforks for. Now, 0 bad goals on 48 shots. Stone the witch! (Burning them is soooo passe.)
  4. They can't unless they either send Sheahan (or other skater down) or lose d-t-d Lyubushkin for the rest of the road trip.
  5. Forgot all about him. Of course that was under different rules and from the same draft that brought us the Mike Zigomanis fax machine fiasco. The list of college prospects that waited out all 4 years of the Sabres holding their rights still only has Petersen on it.
  6. Don't know that Peterka can improve much over what he's done so far. 😉 We need him to keep that up. Power seemed much more comfortable out there last night. (And in the 3rd against Florida playing w/ Samuelsson.) He really seems to be the type that once he finally has a good shift settles in and doesn't look back. Hoping that's the case. Expect it will be. Tomorrow night will be a good follow-on test. Quinn definitely has room for improvement. Didn't expect him to look as overmatched as he has. He didn't seem overmatched in his 2 games last year. He'll get better, how much is the Q. Don't believe Krebs still qualifies as a rookie, but will include him. There's a lot to like about his game. Just need him to learn what passes can actually get through & when he has a good enough scoring chance to actually shoot. Once he gets those down, he should be fun to watch. Have enjoyed watching them play these 3. Expect that'll hold. No idea which rookies/potential rookies get callups, but we know there'll be some & yes, they will need to improve from game to game. The light at the end of the tunnel might finally not be a freight train.
  7. Sabres didn't develop Vesey. The Preds did that. And Vesey had told the Preds he was going to go the UFA route, which is why the took Buffalo's 3rd as a consolation prize. That was a complete waste of a 3rd. It's still only Petersen that bailed on them. But we hear every year how this year's potential bolter is going to bolt though to date, only those claiming Petersen would do so have been right, and that's why it feels like "all the time." But, yeah, either or both of the 2 you mentioned might walk. And if either or both do walk, #### 'im.
  8. If it is, could see the cap start to go up to where it should currently be by this coming season. Thise Thompson & Samuelsson deals are looking better & better. (Regardless of neither having a goal yet this season.)
  9. Well, oddly enough, Granato found a C role for him. (He also did so briefly in the Cats game the last shift of the 1st & a handful of shifts in the 2nd.) Will be interesting to see how he does centering the Sabres "checking" line. Personally believe he's better at C, due in large part to some of the issues you bring up that he's had on the wing. Also, he does play a 200' game, so centering the checking line may not be as crazy as it seems initially.
  10. Did not know he had been broken. 🍺
  11. Wonder if Pekar is Cincy bound with the extra F in Ra-cha-cha?
  12. Yeah, it'll be really interesting to see if Granato makes the same D adjustment tonight if Power starts as he did the 1st 4-1/2 periods into the season. Will also be interesting to see how long Power & Jokiharju stay together should either struggle.
  13. Well, had you done so, you've expected Krebs watching from above rather than Quinn. 😉 You also would've expected Girgensons to slide to C. Nothing to see there. 😉
  14. He had to come up w/ some sort of an article. And this one is getting people discussing it. Would an article merely about how dreamy Luke Hughes is have generated nearly as much discussion? Pretty sure we both know the answer to that, & that is why one redrafts an NHL draft 1 year later. 😉
  15. And Tennessee played in Buffalo this year. That worm has turned. In '24 the KC one does as well.
  16. Teams break out whites @ home for 'special occassions.' Not sure if it's happening more often or not. Really only watch ~100 non-playoff games / yr lately, so the Sabres 50ths, butter knives, & heritage classic + "white hot Friday nights" could definitely be skewing the perception. Depends on how long the road trip is & whether they can get their other opponents on the trip to wear white as to whether the visitor will be on board w/ wearing darks on the road. Still hate that teams primarily wear darks at home.
  17. Really want to see them come away w/ 6 points here. Calgary is probably out of their league right now. And, though the Eulers should be as well, the Sabres seem to play them well. Will be very disappointed w/out W's playing on the Pacific.
  18. 37 says 'hi.' 😉
  19. Have still only seen it on the jumbotron. Looked like there was some white at the glove webbing between the black inside his glove & the crossbar, but haven't seen it in higher definition than that.
  20. And it is really frustrating that Adams hasn't come up w/ a way to spend some of it on assets that don't evaporate the day after the regular season ends.
  21. Well, sure. After the Sabres softened them up. It's like a glass jar's lid. The 1st one to try to open it just gets it loose; & the next 1 to come along actually gets it open. 😉 Durn B's got lucky to get 'em after the Sabres. 😉
  22. That's correct. They haven't had them for nearly a decade. But they still can't have 24 healthy rostered players which they'll have tomorrow if Sheahan is activated & Bjork isn't in Ra-cha-cha, which is what the question was. (And roster limits going away after the trade deadline has no bearing on this discussion. For now, the limit is 23.)
  23. Sure it'll have domino effects & it'll cause somebody else to go through the same thing when next year now THEY have a 3rd year of visiting a particular opponent, but at least they did SOMETHING. Does it stink that the Bills will play in KC in the regular season for the 3rd straight year? Not really. They'll get to win there for the third straight year & the year after that their home game against them MIGHT be the 1st of 3 years in a row the other way. As unhappy as you are about going to KC 3 years in a row, maybe KC is unhappy about not being able to have a perfect home record. Losing IN Buffalo in the RS (should it happen in 2 years) doesn't hurt as much as losing at home because the team's looking to only lose 3 or so games over the full season expect to be perfect at home & playing Buffalo in KC makes it very likely they won't.
  24. Had the league overturned the refs when it looked like the puck was over the line in Knight's glove would we be having this discussion?
