  1. At least that time the Jost line 3rd pairing combo was out against Lescysyn's (sp?) line rather than Stone's.
  2. What a long freaking shift for Fitzgerald. He'd been out w/ the Jost & Cozens lines too.
  3. Nice look by Tuch & nice drive to the net by Thompson drawing everybody w/ him.
  4. True, but the 2 of them together wrenches up the tension immeasurably.
  5. Please do not put Pilut out w/ Fitzgerald anymore. At last this time they were out w/ the kid line.
  6. That was wild. Somehow it stayed out of the net. Cool.
  7. Did Lyubushkin sleep with the ref's wife? These calls are ridiculous.
  8. Not sure how they aren't at least stepping Lyubushkin through the steps to check for a concussion. At least his head didn't twist into the boards, but not sure it didn't hit again on the ice. Viscious hit.
  9. Agreed w/ you that extra points/ 2 point ties should automatically be reviewed. And, yes, your hypothetical would've caused the play to be reviewed.
  10. Said it upthread, really expecting after the 1st period to see Granato rotating having Dahlin & Damuelsson together 1 shift & then split time w/ a 3rd pairing guy & then back out together. Top pairing just under 30 minutes. Lyubushkin 20-22. Clague ~14. Fitz & Pilut 8-12 each.
  11. Well, they DID get a 4th for Scandella and he was waaaay better than Thompson was in the Botterill era, so ... 😉 Facetious, but that gets back to a point made in the discussion w/ Perreault about whether another more active GM would've been better ST & LT than Adams. A more active GM who wasn't giving ALL the prospects a full length of rope could EASILY have wanted to bail on Tage. And it would've set the current team back tremendously. Really believe Adams deserves credit for not trying to convert ANY of the prospects into a handful of magic beans.
  12. Those SHOULD be reviewed regardless. But see the league's point for not automatically reviewing close plays during regular action. It adds a #### ton of time to how long a game runs and also stops the momentum the team that nearly scored had going for it. Instead of playing the next down against a tired D, they have to go against a rested D & possibly 1 that had a chance to get their heavy personnel onto the field.
  13. Need to speed it up to do Yakkety Sax justice. 😉
  14. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a fair amount of mixing and matching of the 1st & 3rd pairs tonight when the 3rd pair actually sees the ice after the 1st period.
  15. 2 comments more or less directly from Power's mouth. 1. He prefers getting more minutes as it keeps him focused in the game. He wants 25+ every night. 2. The toughest part of playing on the NHL is trying to get fully rested between the games. Playing every other night is a huge transition from 2 games every weekend. Expect he will hit that "rookie wall" but not convinced we'll notice.
  16. The uni itself w/ no logo was sharp. (Especially the blue. ) But that logo put it on the same plane as the Turdburger & the Gorton's Fisherman Clown unis.
  17. Sweet. Gives him a pretty good edge on being #1 when player of the month gets chosen.
  18. Am still hoping that w/ Power & Dahlin we end up w/ both Robinson AND Potvin. Dahlin was billed as generational and, though it took a while to show more than just glimpses of it, he might actually be. Power was never billed THAT highly. He merely steps in & dominates after a short acclimation period. He's the defenseman version of Quinn. And totally off on a tangent, when's the last time a team had a F & a D that were that young that ramped up their play that quickly? Honestly don't have an example immediately springing to mind. (Maybe Bourque & Pederson before the wrist surgery?)
  19. The justification is & always has been that they don't know what the crazy bastage running onto the field is capable of doing so they try to subdue him with all due prejudice ASAP. (That they get a kick out of jacking some random schmuck is just a bonus. 😉)
  20. Agree that it would be good to spend more draft capital on D. Not sure that the prospects/ extra F's will be moved to bolster the D. They have the top 3 slots nailed long term & there are prospects that are ~3 years out. Really expect we'll see a couple more Lyubushkin pickups to round out the bottom 3 slots & 7&8. Would leave them with Jokiharju, new guy, & Lyubushkin as the bottom 3 (in no particular order) and other new guy & Bryson as the 7 & 8. Expect it would take a lot of prospect capital to fill those 2 slots; probably more than Adams wants to part with. If he can find a deal or 2 to do so, would be great w/ it. Just not expecting it.
