  1. It's great that we can have two discussions - one about Terry's drunken spending spree with the Bills and one about the impending closing of the vault. Two boots kicking opposite sides of the head. As Dori would say in Finding Nemo... "Just keep kicking, just keep kicking..."
  2. "They are the only team to refuse to answer questions about the coming offseason." Is just as bad. They refused to hold a press conference, not answer questions. well, since they didn't have a PC, there was nothing to write about. Thus, the anger.
  3. To what end? Shall I also the detail the orange growing season in CA and compare that to raising chickens in Arkansas? If the two scenarios are completely uncorrelated why would anyone attempt such folly? Regardless, my posts were addressing the original suggestion that the two were linked. Much like the suggestion that Lindy and pedophilia were linked by the same person.
  4. Are you asking me to explain to you the differences between football and hockey? Between a group of 50 football players and a separate group of 20 hockey players? Between one set of coaches in football and one set of coaches in hockey? Nevermind. They are exactly the same. Expect the same exact results. The correlation and subsequent inevitability of events are crystal clear.
  5. Stand your ground. The original post was nonsensical, meaningless comparison that looks nice on a message board, but has no bearing on the future of the Bills. Might as well compare a yellow sun and a yellow lemon and imply your garden will grow with 15 hours of exposure to a basket of lemons.
  6. Nah. You don't get to give them credit for that while hammering on the core the whole time. I'm fairly certain you were displeased with the whole ball of wax. Regardless, he gave it a shot, failed and is now trying a new approach.
  7. If I'm going to battle a wordsmith - then I'm going to point out this isn't right either. Ruff and Regier didn't find the ditch post Pegula acqusition. If you want to say Pegula tried to drive OUT of the ditch and failed... maybe even got stuck worse - then fine. That would be certainly more accurate than implying a team that had a tired coach/GM/core was flying down the highway listening to the Beach Boys and Terry missed the curve and ruined the party.
  8. I imagine you are correct on the tone of it. However, your last characterization is a mis-characterization. Driving into a ditch implies recklessness, lack of attention, carelessness, incompetence, etc... You know what has transpired isn't because of those reasons. You know it has been executed with deliberation and forethought. It's more apt to say he has driven the Sabres into the shop. Whether it emerges and laps the field, goes into the ditch, or something in-between remains to be seen.
  9. Is there an implication that we need one? Personally, I often snicker at the assertion that sports reporters need to be investigative about the day to day operations of a sports franchise. My gawd, it's a hockey game. It's ok that the fanbase doesn't immediately know the plan forward with regards to Mark Pysyk. It really, really is. The answer will reveal itself in time.

Just watch MMA then. Problem solved.
  11. That's only because the other stuff isn't dealt with appropriately.
  12. The fear of fines and punitive suspension should heavily weigh on the minds of every player. Borderline hits should be on the tails of the curve and not an every game occurrence. Players shouldn't be blowing through yellow lights and going to frame by frame video analysis to see if their speeding through the intersection beat the rule with the time resolution of an atomic clock. Not every hit needs to made. It's a part of the game, not the game itself. When in doubt, the axe should fall on the side of caution, not leniency. Your desire to finish your check should not take precedent over the career of a fellow player. That's a start.
  13. Here are the official NHL guidelines to allow a player to wear #99: http://www.nhl.com/rules/unifor...
  14. Yeah, but that was just to level the beer pong table.
  15. On purpose. I'll never use his real name again.
  16. Sort of hard to take away any meaningful observations in a season where goals by the team were not openly welcomed by the many/most fans (especially late in the season against Nashville). I'm yawning just thinking about it.
