There but for the grace of God go I... If that's what you feel about people in your care - you have no business being anywhere near them.

Round Three:2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs The Conference Finals
SDS replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Jeremy White talked about this today. The Bruins are 23rd in average team height and 21st in average team weight. The quotes he was pulling (I think from the Bruins HC) is that their puck-moving defensemen, not big-banging bodies, is what made the difference this year. -
My opinion? This will be the last time the media reports on it as a large story. Next time, it will be a few bloggers and message board types and then it will hit the tail end of the Gaussian curve.

That quote from Something About Mary came to mind.

The higher level view of your summary is that we just don't know the real reasons (in part or in whole). The "JB is a big dummy" crowd has such a myopic, ill-informed take. The situation literally screams "more to the story", but that won't stop them from building their straw men.

I guess we could compare and contrast that to the petulance of a whining fan. I’m sure you have a dozen or more fantasy trades that could have been easily made if he just clicked his heels together.

Kane was an expiring asset in a buyer’s market.

Too messy. I prefer to look at overly simplistic attributes of an individual to determine if they’re worthy of life.
-
You need to be more specific. Were they valuable human beings or were they human trash?

Is the idea that watching his football highlights is going to turn on the "Ohhhhhh, he was really good at football, so who cares about two murdered people" bulb? Either you think the fates of Ron and Nicole mattered or you don't. Clearly, running with a football trumps their lives in your view. I guess that is your prerogative.

Is it the frank or the beans?

I suspect that those that didn't grow up with him playing, nor remember the trial in the 90's have much less entrenched feelings on the issue in general. This may not be the case from person to person. Then again I could be wrong.

The elephant in the room goes away once it is reissued a bunch of times. It's a story for a year or two and then no one will care. There are a lot of people whose concept of sports hasn't changed since the mid-70s. The 20-year olds don't give a flip about OJ Simpson the football player nor the murderer. The Bills have done the right thing, IMO. Enough time has passed and the number isn't getting retired. That anyone cares about what he did on the field prior to what he did after is mind-boggling.

Does anyone think about the other people in the arena or is the game day presentation supposed to be focused on the sole enjoyment for the person complaining? Street Fighting Man... 1968. A song older than the Sabres. ? I wonder what percentage of people under the age of 40 even know that song? Nothing gets the young whipper snappers going like a good ol’ song from the 60s. Kids LOVE their grandparents music.

To steal a point from DC Tom over on the Bills side... Martin probably hasn't finished because he doesn't know how to satisfactorily get from point A to point B either.

Once they decided Jon would kill Dany and go back to the Night's Watch... they had nothing left for her. I don't understand the imagery of Ep5, unless it was just to throw off the audience I liked the rest, although I couldn't get from Tyrion telling Jon he has to be King to Tryion telling everyone Bran should be King in 5 minutes. Jon going to the Night's Watch was shocking. Don't see why Bran doesn't just pardon him after a year. In the end, no one could see how they could wrap it all up in 13 episodes and that's what it looks like when you do. Clearly, they needed about 20 more episodes, but unfortunately, the cast and writers didn't have that kind of time. Exactly. You saw Jon going to the Night's Watch. The hero of the show from damn near the beginning. You saw it all the way.

But it took 15-16 months to produce and show these 6. If there were four more, we would have waited much longer. 2-4 more months?

I think I only paid $110 for the Sabres only package.

Yes. They wanted to hire Dallas ASAP and didn’t want to wait because RK was in Europe.

Why don't his peers agree with you?

Equally as illustrative, would you agree to do chores around your ex-wife’s house while her new husband took care of the important big picture items in their life?

Would you hire your ex-wife to babysit the kids you had from your new Wife?

One of my favorite sayings is that you can wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets filled first. Everyone wants the right call made. “Find a way” is not a path forward. Objects obscure vision. It can’t be avoided. -

I am not a fan of physics defying answers like this. The puck moves 100 times faster than a referee so what you are asking for is literally impossible.
