So does Lyon play against Montreal?

Quick thoughts for this game: Lyons gets my first star? Doan gets another. Both Power and Samuelsson played well. The team defense was excellent. They didn’t give the Panthers much room when they had the puck in our zone. I thought the Sabres were superb in getting out of their zone. The PK was superb and our PP scored twice. Doan is an excellent addition. When Benson isn’t playing this is a different team. When this team plays with a competitive team they have a chance to win. When this team is flat it loses and is a bore to watch.

Plays one game out of four and is team leading scorer. The kid is good!

If only the Sabres had problems like this.

I try not to say negative things after a win but Quinn did not have a very good game. In the second he had a shift where he made 3 mistakes that could have let the Panthers tie it up. The last shift I think he stayed on the ice too long. It wasn't all bad but his play away from the puck is sketchy.

That's the way it's supposed to look game in and game out. I'm dubious about the team but, that was good stuff!

Sabres are now 22 for 23 on the PK this season.

Early season Benson is reminding me of Prime Leafs Gilmour. Making plays all over the ice to help the team and elite playmaking skill. He’s going to be a special player.

Bobrovsky really kept them in it. Lyon was tested, but not nearly as much as Bobrovsky who needed to make several excellent saves.

Lyon is the man !

Great win. Nice to see Lyon shut out his former team. Gaining confidence as a team. Thanks for that one !

Panthers cup hang over

Quinn didn't do a lot offensively, but he made a lot of small, correct plays and didn't back down to physical challenges.

Deservedly gets the first star. 😎
