Why not add the "local" kid in Ryan Roobroeck? He plays for Niagara and wouldn't have to move far to come to Buffalo. 6'4" C.
-
Thats a big percentage... lol... yeah, I like to have hope even when its fleeting... but bottom line I expect a guy that may get called up from time to time but ultimately plays in Roch until we don't want to offer him another contract... and he plays in the AHL for some other team or goes to Europe.. thats my guess... but who knows.
-
It just boggles my mind that Pegula is 0 for 14 at the playoffs and still walks around with pride for owning the team
-
Probably premature because I don't expect Byram here, but aren't most people expecting: Byram Dahlin Power Kesselring Samuelsson Timmins Something Adams said about helping Power makes me wonder if we could see: Byram Dahlin Samuelsson Kesselring Power Timmins Four reasons: Adams says he wants a simple puck-touch, low-risk type playing with Power, that's Timmins game and he played his best hockey being that guy with Karlsson This set-up allows you to shelter Power somewhat at even-strength and rebuild his confidence against lesser opponents Kesselring's attitude may bring out some of that from Mule and help him play more like the concept of Mule The size/range of the second pair is such that maybe you can lean on them in defensive situations

I hope so. JJP’s game was “sexy” but these guys bring something different that could lead to wins.

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft

Just sign Byram to a bridge contract and trade futures for Rust and call it a day. -
I like Šimon Katolický a 6'4" LW from Czechia who won't be 17 until the end of July.

The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?

He hit w Tage...thank God. But the strat unfortunately failed. That's too low a batting average when it comes to signing your own (although he gets a pass on Skinner...that was pegulas blunder. I believe the rumors that botteril was not high on doing it) -
They came into the off-season with a plan of swap out the back up goalie, swap out a couple of the bottom 1/2 D, and swap out most of the 4th line, and IF there's a deal that improves the team then consider trading Byram. Oh, yeah, and can the S&C coach, he ruined our season. What part of that indicates there may be a new FO if this fails again? That's the plan of someone that beiieves they're on the right course. Now, it's possible that Adams job IS on the line. But he sure doesn't think it is. (Pegula is the one who's opinion matters; but Adams has done nothing to indicate he might be looking for a new person to sign his paycheck come next July.)

I think the JJ trade will turn out like the Savoie trade. Everyone around hockey fandom will say “The Sabres got destroyed” in the trade but after a season it turns out that the Sabres did very well. Fans will enjoy what Kesserling and Doan bring to the team.
-
I have to say, i do not disagree with you here. We were a good offence last year. Only JJP out and we will have a full year of Norris. If our defense and goaltending was not a sieve last year, they would have been someone better. IF this team actually forechecks and plays a more physical defense and not allow other teams to just walk in our zone with just a stick check, there is a possibility it may not be that bad. The players we brought in is really what this team needed outside of more scoring. Trying to stay somewhat positive and not be miserable.

All I’ve got is, no RHD needed.

Draft season will kick off with the Hlinka tournament and yea... so here's the primer for the 2026 draft for those who are interested.
-
True but if you look back the Sabres organization has no idea how to draft in the 2nd round either.
-
If you bridge him for 2 years then he is a UFA. Sign him for one year and let the new FO figure it out after they miss the playoffs again and everyone is let go because their contracts are up. Thats the way to run an organization 😳

I would argue 2 deals. McLeod but your point stands. I suppose if you put McLeod in that working class parts bucket it doesnt apply. -
Ok, she was pushing buttons then. I should've just ignored her...but the 'why' and blow steam comment was just purposefully silly to me. I'll just ignore her comments next time and she will probably do the same is my guess.
-
I think he has a higher upside then that but has never had that chance to really prove himself in the big club!
-
Johnson would be fine as a 6 or 7th dman this season. People get into this headspace that 3rd pairing Dmen and 4th line players have to be spectacular.
-
JJP less than interested two-way play was on display for everyone to see. What is a coach to do when after a number of “discussions” about one’s inadequate play over the same glaring deficiency is a coach to do? Just because a player is soft doesn’t mean that a coach shouldn’t be hard. When you hold a recalcitrant player accountable the other players see that. And usually the rest of the players in the room nod in agreement that what needed to be done got done. There is nothing wrong about kicking a player in the arse when the ears are not working.

Kevyn Adams Press Scrum, July 2, 2025

I still to this day, as a kid going to games with the family's Red Section owned in the Aud, seeing great games, seeing great heart Sabres. Beating the Soviets, allowed as a kid to get into the press box. Saying "Hey to the Mr. Sy and Mr. Norty. As I grew I saw passion even when the Sabres faltered a bit. But they were constant, a hope. Rigas was what was but hope was there. Golisano stepped in and hope was there. But this crowd, your losing a 55 year old fan that spans the Sabres time line and I am older than 55, not by much. Adams has to go. He has killed the hope of younger generations, just so he can maintain his lifestyle. Flim Flam man, a carnival barker, a siding salesman.. -

Adams whole thing was sign these kids up early to long term deals and save money over the course of the deals. Rage’s deal has worked out great. The other deals have not. -

Form now on I'm going to picture Ehlers as the first ever NHL player that takes tampering very seriously. I just assumed he refused to allow his agent to talk to anyone until 7/1 and that's why he's taking his time here. Even the scrubs don't last this long in free agency. Or he's taking the NFL approach of keeping his name in the news as long as possible.
